Abstract
Sheet for realizing general covers, walls and partitions comprising a plurality of mainly longitudinally extending elements (2) and an outer transparent coating (1), wherein said longitudinally extending elements (2) are contained inside said transparent coating (1) which limits their relative position to form at least a layer of elements parallel between each other and protects them from the outer physical agents action.
Description
TRANSPARENT SHEET WITH SHADING ELEMENTS The present invention relates to a transparent 'sheet with shading elements for realizing covers or walls comprising an outer transparent case and a plurality of inner opaque elements, such as for example cords, canes or tubes.
At the state of the art, there are known various systems for realizing partitions, sheds or covers realized by means of canes, interwoven cords or by approaching a plurality of elongated shaped elements, i.e. with a dimension definitely greater than the other two ones. Such systems are applied for example in the realization of outer spaces partitions, covers of patios and porches, parking sheds; for shading vertical and horizontal openings of buildings, and in a series of other applications in which it is needed to use an opaque separation surface, which is cheap, light and aesthetically pleasing. One drawback linked to the realization of such partitions according to the techniques known at the state of the art is the perishability of many materials used. In fact, if vegetable materials are used for the realization of these covers or partitions, the atmospheric agents action will tend to damage the material which in turn can
blacken, decay, be attacked by various kinds of insects or however it can lose its initial pleasing aspect, in addition to, in some cases, its initial mechanic properties. Even if the material used is synthetic, for example of plastic nature, there remains however a problem linked to the dirtiness; a surface made up of a plurality of side by side elements needs in fact more time to be cleaned and usually the cleaning operation is unsatisfying, since the surface of the single elements can be very rough and cannot allow an easy dirtiness removing .
Therefore object of the present invention is to provide a sheet, flat or of any shape, for realizing partitions, sheds or covers by approaching a plurality of elongated shaped elements, which solves the drawbacks linked to the atmospheric agents action and to the cleaning operations, peculiar to the systems known at the state of the art.
For clarity, it is to be underlined that with sheet it is meant a solid having two dimensions much greater than the third one. In the present invention, with the word "sheet" it is not only
meant a flat surface but also an undulated or fretted profile, or any other profile.
The present invention reaches the prefixed aims since it is a sheet comprising a plurality of mainly longitudinally extending opaque elements and a transparent outer coating characterized in that the longitudinally extending elements are contained inside the coating, thus limiting their relative position besides protecting them from the outer physical agents action.
These and other advantages will be highlighted by the following detailed description which refers to the appended drawings 1 to 7.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention with flat profile in section view;
Figs. 2 and 3 show an embodiment with fretted profile and only one layer of opaque elements in two section views;
Figs. 4 and 5 show an embodiment with fretted profile and two layers of opaque elements in two section views;
Figs. 6 and 7 show an embodiment with undulated profile in two section views.
As it is shown in fig. 1, the sheet according to the present invention comprises an outer coating
(1) comprising a first (1) and a second (12) transparent surface, arranged in parallel between each other. Between the two surfaces, a series of recesses (14) is realized by means of said partitions (13) . Inside each recess, one or more shading elements (2) are inserted.
This shading elements (2) can be bamboo canes, canes of other vegetable species, cords of vegetable, plastic or metal material, tubes of plastic or metal material. While in the figures shading elements with round section are shown, the aims of the present invention are not limited thereby. The section of the elements (2) can have any regular or irregular shape, and it can be also variable along the same elements axes, as it generally occurs with material (for example the canes) of natural origin.
As stated, one or more shading elements can be inserted inside any recess. In order to guarantee the relative position between the elements to be observed, it is in fact sufficient that the offset between the two transparent surfaces constituting the coating is little enough that the two shading elements are not allowed to overlap. It is thus possible to provide the system also with only one
recess delimited solely by the side edges of the two surfaces (11) and (12), inside which a plurality of shading elements is provided.
It is obviously also possible to provide a sheet in which only some portions of the recesses provided between the two layers of transparent material are filled with shading elements, thus obtaining effects of more or less marked shielding.
The materials used for the realization of the coating are, as a way of example, alveolar and compact polycarbonate (PC) , alveolar and compact polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) , alveolar and compact polypropylene (PP) , alveolar and compact styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) . Any other plastic or glass material or however transparent material is apt to the realization of the sheet according to the present invention.
Compared to what known at the state of the art, the sheet realized according to the present invention allows to use materials, as for example bamboo, protecting them from the atmospheric agents and therefore preserving their initial pleasing aspect in time. Moreover, the sheet cleaning can occur in a very simple manner, by cleaning the two transparent surfaces (11) and (12) .
Another advantage of the sheet according to the present invention is to provide effects of partial shielding, leaving empty portions of the recesses (14) .
According to another embodiment of the present invention, shown in figure 4 and 5, it is possible to realize sheets provided with a third transparent surface (15), parallel to the two transparent sheets (11) and (12) . Two layers apt to receive shading material are thus formed, according to what described. The recesses (14) for the shading material introduction can be parallel between each other, as shown in figures 4 and 5 or can form any angle between each other. In this way, by suitably inserting the shading material in the various layers it is possible to realize a plurality of aesthetic, chromatic and shading effects.
The ones described are only preferred embodiments of the present invention, whose aims are defined in the appended claims.
