Abstract
율-왜곡 최적화를 위한 영상 부호화/복호화 방법 및 이를 수행하는 장치가 개시된다. 부호화할 마크로 블록을 제공받고, 화면간 예측 및 화면내 예측 중 어느 하나를 실행하여 예측 마크로 블록을 생성하고, 생성된 예측 마크로 블록 및 제공된 마크로 블록에 기초하여 잔여 예측 블록을 생성한 후 생성된 잔여 예측 블록에 대해 미리 정해진 복수의 변환 행렬 중 하나의 변환 행렬을 적용하여 잔여 예측 블록을 변환한다. 따라서, 율-왜곡을 최적화할 수 있고 영상의 품질을 향상시킬 수 있다.
