Abstract

Provided is an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery, including silicon dioxide. Provided also is a method for preparing an anode active material for a lithium secondary battery, including carrying out mechanical pulverization and alloying of silicon dioxide or silicon dioxide-containing mineral particles. The method simplifies the process and reduces the processing time. In addition, the method provides a cost-efficient anode active material for a lithium secondary battery capable of realizing high capacity.
