Abstract

A plug (1), and methods for setting and release of the plug, wherein the plug can be held fixed relative to a casing/borehole. The plug comprises a slip actuator (8) for setting and release of slips (9), and a locking element (5) in contact with the slip actuator (8). The locking element (5) comprises multiple parts with internal threads (17) which constitute an enclosure around threads of a pipe. When setting the plug, the locking element (5) is capable of sliding over the pipe threads for movement of the slip actuator (8) and setting of the slips (9), until the locking element (5) comes into engagement with a locking sleeve (7), fixed relative to the pipe, which prevents rotation of the locking element (5).
