Abstract
The household sharpener consisting of a shank, the part of which is formed as a hand grip, to which rigidly attached are the plates made of hard material and the outer surfaces of which are covered by abrasive shells, thus creating a working surface used for sharpening of knives, scissors and other implements fitted with blade.
Description
Household Sharpener
The invention relates to a household sharpener, utilizing the abrasive shells, situated on the outer surfaces of a hard material plate, and acting as grinding stones.
There are known, among other things from the patent descriptions USD299308, US5163251, US4494340, the sharpeners using rollers, set up one after the another in a vertical position and perpendicular to the knife blade, and situated on both sides of a knife, thus creating the sharpening edges.
There are known, among other things from the patent description GB2467517, the sharpeners making use of the abrasive surface of the roller.
There are known, among other things from the patent descriptions US5458534 and USD273081, the sharpeners making use of the replaceable plates of grinding stone, set up in a holder, in a way which enables sharpening of the knife against one of the walls of this stone.
There are known, among other things from the patent descriptions US4799335 and US6168509, the sharpeners with a flat or curved abrasive surface, as well as with the guides for knife.
There are also traditional sharpeners, known from the Polish Pomeranian region, called "sztrycholki", fitted with plates of grinding stone attached to the wooden shank.
The essence of invention is creation of the tool for sharpening of knives, scissors, and other implements fitted with a blade, using for this purpose abrasive shells, attached to the plate made of hard material, as a result of which a rigid, abrasive working surface is obtained, thus substituting the grinding stone.
The household sharpener consisting of the shank, plates made of hard material, abrasive shells is characterized in that, plates made of hard material are fixed to the shank, and attached onto plates are the abrasive shells, in a way ensuring that these are covering all outer sides of the plate, thus creating a working surface for sharpening of implements fitted with blade.
It is preferable, that two plates made of hard material are attached to the shank.
It is preferable, that the shank is shaped in a form of elongated wedge.
It is preferable, that part of the shank forms a hand grip.
It is preferable, that the abrasive shells with various granulation are put onto the two plates of hard material.
It is preferable, that the abrasive shells are made on the backing of cloth, paper or polyester.
The invention has been elucidated in detail on the basis of drawings, which show the embodiments of implement according to the invention, in which fig. 1 shows axonometric projection of the household sharpener, fig. 2 shows transverse section of the household sharpener.
The sharpener consist of a shank (1), the part of which is formed as a hand grip (la), whilst the other one is shaped as a wedge, to which rigidly attached are the plates (2) made of hard material, and the outer surfaces of which are covered by abrasive shells (3).
Functioning of the mechanism is realized by drawing the knife blade across the rigid surface of abrasive shell (3).
The purpose of invention is to obtain a sharpener, offering possibility of sharpening the kitchen knives, scissors, scythes and other sharp tools, without necessity to use the grinding stones in a form of abrasive sticks, which are characterized by significant weight and production costs, as well as by difficulty in additional dressing, and often are not much attractive from an aesthetic point of view. The household sharpener allows also for more convenient sharpening of knives, as a result of using the hand grip, which is not provided in traditional abrasive sticks.
As far as the outcome of invention is concerned, there can be a more widespread use of sharpeners by the households owing to their lower price, smaller weight, superior aesthetics, as well as improved ergonomics.
