Abstract
The invention relates to a device for deploying a self-expanding medical functional element (10) having a proximal and a distal end (10a, 10b), especially a stent, comprising a feed line (11) which can be introduced into the hollow organ, and guide means (12) which can be axially moved inside the feed line (11) relative the feed line, said guide means being detachably connected to the compressed functional element (10). The device is characterized in that the proximal end (10a) and/or the distal end of the functional element (10) is detachably connected to at least one spring element (13) which exerts an axial force onto the proximal end (10a) and/or onto the distal end (10b) when the functional element (10) is compressed, said axial force counteracting the longitudinal contractile force of the functional element (10) such that the functional element (10) is elongated in the longitudinal direction in order to reduce the friction between the functional element (10) and the inner wall (11a) of the feed line (11).
