Definitions
- the present patent application relates to detergents for the automatic cleaning of dishes.
- This application relates in particular to the use of thermoplastic additives in automatic dishwasher detergents to prevent the discoloration of
- Machine-washed dishes are often subject to more stringent requirements today than manually-washed dishes.
- a tableware that has been completely cleaned at first glance of food waste is then rated as not having any flaw if, after machine dishwashing, it still has discolorations which are based, for example, on the attachment of vegetable dyes to the dish surface.
- automatic dishwashing detergents For example, to obtain spotless dishes, bleaches are used in automatic dishwashing detergents for this reason. To activate these bleaching agents and to achieve an improved bleaching action when cleaning at temperatures of 60 ° C and below, automatic dishwashing detergents generally further contain bleach activators or
- Bleach catalysts in particular, the bleach catalysts have been found to be particularly effective.
- European Patent EP 1 373 450 (BASF) describes the use of specific carboxylic acid-containing copolymers to prevent the bleaching agents
- thermoplastic polymers in the rinse liquor can be avoided or at least reduced in scope.
- a first subject of this application is therefore the use of a thermoplastic polymer with the exception of polyamide to prevent the discoloration of
- thermoplastic polymer used in the invention is preferably water-insoluble.
- water-insoluble polymers are those which dissolve in water at 20 ° C. to less than 1 g / 1000 ml, preferably less than 0.5 g / 1000 ml and in particular less than 0.1 g / 1000 ml.
- the water solubility of particularly preferred water-insoluble polymers is less than 0.01 g / 1000 ml.
- 1 g of the polymer is introduced into 100 ml of water (20 ° C) and stirred using a four-bladed stirrer (IKA RW 20) with 30 mm diameter at 800 U / min for 300 seconds.
- thermoplastic polymers includes polycarbonates, polyesters, polyphenylene oxide and polysulfone.
- Preferred thermoplastic polymers are the polyethylene as well as polypropylene, poly-1-butene, poly-4-methyl-1-pentene, polyvinyl chloride,
- Polyvinylidene chloride polymethyl methacrylate, polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene or polyacetals.
- the preferred thermoplastic polyadducts include not only the linear polyurethanes but also chlorinated polyethers.
- Polymers from the group of polyolefins have proven to be particularly advantageous in terms of their processability and the prevention of the discoloration of plastic objects.
- Polyolefins particularly preferably polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride or polystyrene and in particular polyethylene are therefore preferably used according to the invention.
- thermoplastic polymer polyethylene is preferably used according to the invention.
- thermoplastic polymer is used in a first preferred embodiment in the form of particles or powders, films or films, granules, extrudates or castings.
- the processing that is the homogenization and / or plasticization and / or shaping of the polymer mixture according to the invention is carried out, for example, by pressing, extrusion, injection molding or blow molding.
- thermoplastic polymers By choosing the ready-made form according to the invention used thermoplastic polymers, the discoloration of plastic objects can be influenced. To prevent such discoloration as far as possible, it has proven to be advantageous that the
- thermoplastic polymer is in particle form and at least 50 wt .-%, preferably at least 70 wt .-% and in particular at least 90 wt .-% of the particles has a particle size between 1 and 2000 ⁇ , preferably between 5 and 1000 ⁇ and in particular between 50 and 250 ⁇ .
- the particle size can be determined in particular by means of dynamic light scattering, which is usually carried out on dilute suspensions containing, for example, from 0.01 to 1% by weight of the particles.
- thermoplastic polymer has a porous structure with an average pore diameter (according to DIN 66133) of 0.01 to 0.20 ⁇ and in particular from 0.02 to 0.1 ⁇ .
- the thermoplastic polymer is used in the form of a solid foam.
- Foam is a structure of gas-filled cells, which are limited in the present case by highly viscous or solid cell webs.
- the foam has average pore sizes below 10 mm, preferably below 5 mm and in particular below 2 mm.
- the pore volume is preferably at least 20% by volume, preferably at least 40% by volume, more preferably at least 60% by volume and in particular at least 70% by volume of the total volume of
- the foam structure can be achieved by chemical reaction, by addition of blowing agents (blowing agents) which decompose at certain temperatures to form gas, by addition of volatile solvents, for example volatile hydrocarbons having a boiling point between 40 and 60 ° C, or by exposure to gases.

Abstract
