Abstract

The present invention relates to a bicycle acceleration apparatus for increasing the running speed of the bicycle. The bicycle acceleration apparatus comprises: a pair of pedals (110), each of which is coupled to an arm (111), for performing a pedaling operation; rotational shafts (120), each of which is respectively coupled to both ends of the arm (111) of the pedal (110); a guide tube (130) for receiving and guiding the rotational shaft (120) therethrough; a housing (140) coupled to one side of the guide tube (130); an acceleration gear block (150) which includes a sun gear (151) key-coupled to the rotational shaft (120) and a plurality of planetary gears (153) arranged equidistantly around the sun gear (151) and meshed therewith, each planetary gear (153) having two gearwheels and a small-diameter gearwheel with a smaller number of teeth being meshed with the sun gear (151) to cooperate with each other; and a sprocket (160) which includes a power transmission gear (161) to be meshed with the other large-diameter gearwheel with a larger number of teeth in the planetary gears (153) that are arranged concentrically with the sun gear (151) of the acceleration gear block (150), and which rotates about the rotational shaft (120). As the acceleration apparatus is mounted to the rotational shafts which run by a pedaling operation of the bicycle, the rotating force of the sprocket under the pedaling operation is doubled and the speed of the bicycle can also be at least twice faster. Moreover, since the acceleration apparatus can be easily incorporated into the rotational shaft, even small bicycles can benefit from its acceleration performance.
