Abstract
The present invention relates to a power supply apparatus for light rail, using a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system, and more particularly, to a power supply apparatus for light rail, comprising: a power-converting apparatus which rectifies alternating current (AC) power, obtained by passing the voltage generated from a power-generating station through a substation, a circuit breaker, and a transformer, into direct current (DC) power; a converter which converts the voltage of the power from solar cells to be the same as the voltage of the power rectified by the power-converting apparatus; and a control board which controls the power-converting apparatus such that the control board compares the power supplied through the converter and the power required for operating a light rail system to check for electric power to be supplemented, and controls the duty ratio or firing angle of the power-converting apparatus so as to supplement the electric power.
