Abstract

The present invention relates to a coloured coating slip for coating a print medium such as paper, paperboard and cardboard, for example, which comprises water, at least one pigment, at least one binder, electrolytic constituents, and at least two additives. The coloured coating slip is characterized in that it comprises as first additive at least one high molecular mass polyether and as second additive at least one polyfunctional alcohol and/or low molecular mass polyether and/or micellar fatty acid dispersion, the first and second additives at least partly restricting the electrolytic constituents of the slip in terms of their movement in the aqueous phase of an electrical double layer of the pigment, and leading to a retardation of the discharge time in the dried slip coat. The invention also encompasses a method for producing the coloured coating slip.
