Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis shown in each drawing are axes showing orthogonal coordinates perpendicular to each other, and the same axes in each drawing all show the same direction.
The state of the mobile phone 1 according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 1 (a) shows the closed state of the mobile phone 1, FIG. 1 (b) shows the first open state of the mobile phone 1, and FIG. 1 (c) shows the second open state of the mobile phone 1. .
As shown in FIG. 1, the mobile phone 1 of the present embodiment has a substantially box-like upper case 2, a substantially box-like lower case 3, an upper case 2, and a lower case 3 as a general configuration. And a connecting portion 4 that connects the two in an openable and closable manner. By the pivoting operation of the connecting portion 4, the cellular telephone device 1 is connected so as to be able to open and close in the arrow B direction orthogonal to the arrow A direction and the arrow A direction centering on the axis a.
At the time of carrying, as shown in FIG. 1A, the upper case 2 and the lower case 3 constituting the mobile phone 1 are used in a superimposed state (closed state or closed state) in which they are overlapped with each other. For example, when entering characters, numbers, or a telephone number during a call, as shown in FIG. It is used in a first open state (first open state or vertically open state) rotated in the direction of arrow A (or first direction) about the first rotation axis). For example, when viewing a TV on a landscape screen, as shown in FIG. 1 (c), the upper case 2 relative to the lower case 3 is opened from the closed state of the cellular phone 1 (the second rotation axis Used in a second open state (second open state or side open state) rotated in the direction of arrow B (or referred to as a second direction, which is a direction orthogonal to the first direction) about .
Next, with reference to FIG. 1, the configuration of the mobile phone 1 of the present embodiment will be described. The upper case 2 accommodates the receiver 5, the first display unit 7, and the like. A first display unit 7 is provided on the main surface 2A side of the upper housing 2. Although not shown, various circuits for realizing the function of the mobile phone are mounted on the printed circuit board provided in the upper case 2. Although the upper case 2 is made of resin in the present embodiment, the present invention is not limited to this.
The lower housing 3 accommodates a transmitter (microphone) 13, an operation unit 14 and the like. Although not shown, a circuit for realizing the function of the mobile phone is mounted on the printed circuit board provided in the lower housing 3. The main surface 3A of the lower housing 3 is provided with an operation unit 14 which is exposed when the mobile phone 1 is in the first and second open states. In the present embodiment, the lower case 3 is made of resin as in the upper case 2, but the invention is not limited to this.
When the microphone 13 is on the main surface 3A of the lower housing 3 and the mobile telephone 1 is in the closed state, the upper housing 2 is opposed and covered, and when the mobile telephone 1 is in the first open state or the second open state It is provided to be exposed to During a call, the user's voice is sent to the other party.
The operation unit 14 is disposed on the main surface 3A of the lower housing 3. Numbers, letters and symbols are printed to enter phone numbers and letters. It consists of a plurality of operation buttons that can be used to receive and end calls, adjust the volume output from the receiver 5, etc., switch to the manner mode, and select and confirm on the menu screen.
The connecting portion 4 is mounted with a first connecting portion (first hinge) 28 and a second connecting portion (second hinge) 29 and rotatably connects the upper case 2 and the lower case 3. is there. Further, though not illustrated, a wiring member (cable), which is not illustrated, electrically connects the printed circuit board of the upper housing 2 and the second printed circuit board of the lower housing 3.
The open / close detection magnet 70 and the magnetic detection element 80 will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 2 is a partially enlarged view of the mobile phone 1 in the second open state. As shown in FIG. 2, a part of the connecting portion 4 forms a convex portion 72 which protrudes in the housing thickness direction from the main surface 3A of the lower housing 3 provided with the operation portion 14. And in the convex part of the connection part 4, the magnet 70 for open / close detection is provided. Although the details will be described later, a part of the convex portion 72 of the connecting portion 4 forms the inclined portion 42. The open / close detection magnet 70 is located near the center in the short side direction of the housing (in the Y-axis direction in the drawing).
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 2, the end of the main surface 2A of the upper housing 2 provided with the first display portion 7 is projected toward the connecting portion 4 with reference to the main surface 2A of the upper housing 2 A recessed portion 71 having a recessed shape is formed along the protruding shape of a part (convex portion 72) of the connecting portion 4. Although the details will be described later, in the closed state of the mobile phone 1 (see FIG. 1A), the convex portion 72 engages with the concave portion 71 to reduce the rattling of the upper case 2 and the lower case 3 small. Further, a projection 73A, a projection 73B, and a projection 74 are formed on the inner side of the recess 71 so as to further suppress rattling when the protrusion 72 and the recess 71 are engaged. The projections 73A, the projections 73B, and the projections 74 are made of a material (softer material) having a hardness lower than that of the housing, so that the surfaces of the projections 72 are damaged during engagement, and the coating is prevented from peeling off.
A magnetic detection element 80 is provided on the back surface of the recess 71 of the upper housing 2. The magnetic detection element 80 is located above the open / close detection magnet 70 when the cellular phone 1 is in the closed state (see FIG. 1A), and is a recess at a position overlapping the open / close detection magnet 70 in the housing thickness direction. 71 is provided. When the mobile telephone 1 is in the closed state (see FIG. 1A), the magnetic detection element 80 is at a position facing the open / close detection magnet 70, in other words, in the short side direction of the housing (Y axis direction in the figure). , Located near the center.
The magnetic detection element 80 detects a magnetic change of the open / close detection magnet 70, whereby the lateral opening angle θ1 when the user opens the upper housing 2 with respect to the lower housing 3 in the direction of arrow B is within a predetermined range. In this case, the side open state of the mobile phone 1 is detected. The magnetic detection element 80 is electrically connected to a printed circuit board provided in the upper housing 2. When the magnetic detection element 80 detects the side-to-side open state of the mobile phone 1, it transmits a signal to the printed circuit board, and the mobile phone 1 operates the first display unit 7, for example.
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the user can lower the open / close detection magnet 70 and the magnetic detection element 80 by arranging the magnet 70 and the magnetic detection element 80 in the vicinity of the center in the housing short direction (Y axis direction in the figure). When the upper case 2 is opened in the direction of arrow B relative to the case 3, the magnetic detection element 80 does not have too large or small lateral opening angle θ 1 of the mobile telephone 1 (not erroneously detected), predetermined The side open state of the mobile phone 1 is detected within the range angle. That is, the side-to-side open state of the mobile phone 1 is detected at an angle smaller than the angle at which the display section can be seen by the user, and the screen display sideways is performed. The open / close detection magnet 70 and the magnetic detection element 80 do not necessarily have to be positioned near the center depending on the performance of the magnetic detection element 80, and the horizontal state is at an angle smaller than the angle at which the entire display unit can be viewed by the user. It may be any position that can be detected.
In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, when the cellular phone 1 is in the closed state (see FIG. 1A), the convex portion 72 provided with the open / close detection magnet 70 is a magnetic detection element 80. Engages with the recess 71 of the upper case 2 provided on the back surface. Therefore, for example, even if force F shown by the arrow in FIG. 3 is applied to the upper case 2, the upper case 2 (in the figure, with respect to the lower case 3) in the short direction of the case (in the Y axis direction in the figure). The angle θ2 representing the deviation of the broken line) is almost zero. Therefore, when the mobile phone 1 is in the closed state (see FIG. 1A), the protrusion 72 engages with the recess 71, whereby rattling of the upper case 2 and the lower case 3 can be suppressed to a small level. . At this time, the protrusion 73A and the protrusion 73B provided so as to protrude from the inside of the recess 71 can further suppress the play of θ2 to a small size without damaging the surface of the protrusion 72. In addition, as shown in FIG. 2, when all of the projections 73A, 73B, and 74 are disposed on the opposite side of the second rotation axis than the center in the short side direction of the upper housing 2, θ2 at the time of engagement is It is possible to effectively suppress the rattling of the direction.
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along line IV-IV shown in FIG. The reference symbol F in FIG. 4 indicates the force F shown in FIG. Further, reference symbol M shown in FIG. 4 indicates a straight line connecting the center position of the magnetic detection element 80 and the center position of the open / close detection magnet 70. As shown by the straight line M in FIG. 4, when the cellular phone 1 is in the closed state (see FIG. 1 (a)), even if the force F shown by the arrow in FIG. The central position of the sensor and the central position of the open / close detection magnet 70 substantially coincide with each other in the housing thickness direction (the Z-axis direction in the drawing). Therefore, even if force F is applied to the mobile phone 1 from the outside, rattling of the upper case 2 and the lower case 3 can be suppressed to a small degree, so that the open / close detection magnet 70 and the magnetic detection element 80 Misalignment is unlikely to occur. According to this configuration, the magnetic detection element 80 does not respond to the magnetic force of the open / close detection magnet 70 due to slight rattling of the upper case 2 and the lower case 3, and the mobile phone 1 is closed even though It is also possible to prevent a situation in which the magnetic detection element 80 erroneously detects "sideways open state" and displays on the horizontal screen. That is, by preventing false detection and performing detection at an appropriate angle, wasteful power consumption can be reduced.
The direction in which the force F is applied is not limited to the direction shown in FIG. 3, and the mobile phone 1 is magnetic as in the case where the force F is applied from the direction shown in FIG. When the detection element 80 detects the side-to-side open state of the mobile phone 1, erroneous detection is difficult.
Next, the configuration of the connecting portion 4 will be described with reference to FIGS. The connecting portion 4 shown in FIG. 5 is composed of a connecting portion main body 40 and a connecting portion cover 41.
The connecting portion main body 40 shown in FIG. 5 has an inclined portion 42 having an inclined surface 42A smoothly continuous with the inclined surface 41A of the connecting portion cover 41 in the housing thickness direction (the Z axis direction in the drawing), and a second hinge. A hinge accommodation portion 43 for accommodating 29 and an accommodation portion 44 located below the inclined portion 42.
The connecting portion cover 41 shown in FIG. 5 is continuous with the inclined surface 41A and the inclined surface 41A which are smoothly continuous with the inclined portion 42 along the short side direction of the housing (Y axis direction in FIG. 5). And a curved surface 41B covering the diameter portion 51 from above along the shape of the diameter portion 51 of the shaft member 50. The configuration of the pivot shaft member 50 will be described later.
As shown in FIG. 2, the inclined portion 42 has an inclined surface 42 </ b> A that is smoothly continuous with the inclined surface 41 </ b> A along the housing short direction (the Y axis direction in the drawing). Therefore, the appearance quality of the connecting portion 4 is not impaired. Further, as shown in FIG. 2, when the cellular phone 1 is in the side-opened state, the inclined portion 42 is in the housing thickness direction from the main surface 3A of the lower housing 3 provided with the operation portion 14 (Z in FIG. In the axial direction). That is, the inclined portion 42 forms a part of the convex portion 72 of the connecting portion 4. In the present embodiment, the convex portion 72 is formed by the inclined portion 42. However, the convex portion 72 does not necessarily have to be formed with the inclined portion, and may be formed in a step shape instead of the inclined portion.
The housing portion 44 illustrated in FIG. 5 is located below the inclined portion 42 along the short side direction of the housing (in the Y-axis direction in the drawing). The housing portion 44 is originally formed by removing the thick portion of the connecting portion 4 in order to avoid sink marks. In addition, a magnet holding unit 45 is provided inside the housing unit 44, and the magnet holding unit 45 houses a magnet 70 for open / close detection for detecting the lateral opening of the mobile phone 1. Among the side surfaces of the housing portion 44, the side surface on the main surface 3A side of the lower housing 3 has an opening 44A that is substantially entirely open.
Here, as shown in FIG. 5, the magnet holding portion 45 in which the open / close detection magnet 70 for detecting lateral opening is accommodated protrudes from the main surface 3A of the lower housing 3 in which the operation portion 14 is provided. Located below the inclined portion 42. Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 2, the open / close detection magnet 70 housed in the magnet holding portion 45 is located near the center in the housing short direction (in the Y-axis direction in the drawing).
As shown in FIG. 6, when the opening 44A is viewed from the longitudinal direction of the case (in the X-axis direction in the drawing), the magnet 70 for open / close detection provided in the magnet holder 45 can be seen. In addition, since a part of the opening 44A protrudes from the main surface 3A of the lower housing 3 provided with the operation unit 14 in the housing thickness direction (the Z-axis direction in the drawing), as shown in FIG. Since the opening 44A of the connecting portion 4 is covered with the appearance sheet 47, the mobile phone 1 does not lose the appearance quality.
The first hinge 28 is inserted into the housing portion 44 from the opening 44B along the housing short direction (the Y-axis direction in the drawing).
