Abstract

A battery loading device supplied by a fuel cell (12), to which there is associated a fuel tank (8), comprising at least one housing (5) for a battery (6) for supply thereof and at least another receiving housing (7) for the fuel tank (8), said loading device being characterized in that it comprises an operating front face (4) onto which there are arranged said housings (5, 7).

Description

Fuel cell battery loading device
The field of this invention relates to loading devices for hand-held tool batteries of the drilling device, boring device, screwing device, stapler, nailing device type, and other resin injecting guns.
Mains operated loading devices have a drawback inherent to such an operation being the variety and the multiplicity of « mains » voltages. It has thus been suggested, for example, from US2007/0296376, wireless loading devices autonomously operating but with a consumable. Such devices include fuel cells, with a fuel tank as a consumable, the electricity generating power in the fuel cells to be able to supply the batteries.
Now, the Applicant tried to improve such an idea of a loading device operating without any mains voltage for providing a loading device of a particularly simple use.
Thus, this invention relates to a battery loading device supplied by a fuel cell, to which there is associated a fuel tank, comprising at least one housing for a battery for the supply thereof and at least another receiving housing for the fuel tank, said loading device being characterized in that it comprises an operating front face onto which said housings are arranged.
The loading device of this invention could thus be compact with all service areas available one next to the other, thereby ensuring a high ease of use, in addition to its universal character. Advantageously, there could be provided a secondary supply output, for supplying small electronic devices of the camera, cellular mobile phone type, etc.
Preferably, the battery loading device of this invention comprises, on the front face thereof, a plug for reloading a battery, on an area of the front face arranged for directly receiving a tool with its battery on board.
Advantageously, the front face of the loading device could be the bottom of a case for storing and transporting a tool.
This invention will be better understood from the following description of several embodiments of the loading device of the invention, with reference to the appended drawing, wherein:
- Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of a first embodiment of the loading device of the invention, with a fuel tank for a fuel cell for supplying the loading device and a battery to be reloaded, and
- Figure 2 is a perspective view of a second embodiment of the loading device of this invention, with a front face arranged for receiving a tool with its battery on board, to be reloaded.
With reference to Figure 1, this invention relates to a wireless battery loading device using, as a power, that of a fuel cell thus producing the electricity to be able to supply the battery 6 to be reloaded on the loading device.
The loading device is provided as a base 1 inside which there are provided the cell 12 as such (in dashed lines), the connecting members for supplying the battery 6 as well as the members for connecting the cell to a fuel tank 8 as well as a checking electronic board. On one side 2 of the base, there is arranged a radiator 3 for evacuating calories .
The top of the base 1 is an operating front face 4, having therein provided a housing 5 for the battery 6 to be reloaded and a receiving housing 7 for the fuel tank 8 associated with the fuel cell.
The members for connecting to the battery 6 to be reloaded and to the fuel tank 8 project through contact terminals in the housings 5, 7, respectively, which housings could be referred to as operating areas .
The fuel cell is also connected, on another side 9 of the base 1 of the loading device, to a secondary output connector 10, in the present case a USB output, intended for supplying small electronic devices of the camera, portable phone type... The secondary output 10 is mounted in parallel on the reloading output (5) for the battery. There is provided on the front face 4 a member 11, here a LED diode, as an indicator of the battery load end. When the battery is reloaded, the electronics detects this and changes to the stand-by mode, controlling the indicator. In the case of the LED, it turns on or changes colour.
The embodiment of the loading device on Figure 2 is similar to that on Figure 1, but with some differences to be described later on, similar elements having the same numerals as on Figure 1. The operating front face 4 comprises, in addition to receiving housings for battery to be reloaded, in the present case two 5 and 5', a housing 13 being arranged for directly receiving a tool with its battery to be reloaded. In the bottom of the housing 13, there are provided terminals 14 for connecting the direct reloading plug of the battery of the tool left on board. There are, here, two connecting housings of the fuel tank, 7 and 7', the housing 7' being arranged for receiving two of them.
Instead of the USB output 10 in the loading device of Figure 1, the loading device of Figure 2 comprises a receiving housing 17 for a secondary integrated loading device supplied by the cell 12 and onto which there is mounted the secondary output for reloading small electronic devices. The operating front face 4' in this second embodiment is here the bottom of a case 15 for storing and transporting the tool lying in the housing 13. The case 15 comprises a cap 16. When the tool is stored in the case, the fuel cell 12 reloads its battery.

Claims

A battery loading device supplied by a fuel cell (12), to which there is associated a fuel tank (8), comprising at least one housing (5) for a battery (6) for supply thereof and at least another receiving housing (7) for the fuel tank (8), said loading device being characterized in that it comprises an operating front face (4) onto which there are arranged said housings (5, 7) .
A loading device according to claim 1, wherein there is provided a secondary supplying output (10) for supplying small electronic devices.
A loading device according to one of claims 1 and 2, wherein there is provided, on the front face (4') thereof, a plug (14) for reloading a battery, on an area (13) of the front face (4') arranged for directly receiving a tool with its battery on board .
A loading device according to claim 3, the operating front face (4') of which is the bottom of a case for storing and transporting a tool.
