- liquid crystal display devices having a liquid crystal panel have been widely used in television receivers, mobile phones, digital cameras, and the like.
- a liquid crystal display device there are many cases where a plurality of people see information displayed on a liquid crystal panel at the same time depending on the application. Therefore, many liquid crystal display devices that can control the viewing angle to widen the viewing angle of the liquid crystal panel when a plurality of people view the liquid crystal panel at the same time have been developed.
- Patent Document 1 when it is assumed that a plurality of people will see information displayed on the display means (when a captured image or video is displayed), only the user displays on the display means. There is disclosed a technique for setting display means so as to widen the viewing angle compared to the case where it is assumed that the information being viewed will be viewed.
- Japanese Published Patent Publication Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2004-233527 (Publication Date: August 19, 2004)
- a halftone gray scale method can be cited as one of the techniques for expanding the viewing angle of a liquid crystal panel.
- the viewing angle is improved by using the halftone gray scale method, the artificial image showing a geometric pattern such as a character or figure has a shaky edge (the edge becomes jagged), and the display quality deteriorates. End up.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and its main purpose is to display a natural image and an artificial image without degrading the display quality of the artificial image even when the natural image and the artificial image are displayed simultaneously. It is an object of the present invention to provide a liquid crystal display device capable of achieving the above.
- the liquid crystal display device sets one gamma value of an adjacent pixel to a value higher than a predetermined reference value, and sets the other gamma value to be higher than the reference value.
- a liquid crystal display device capable of widening the viewing angle of the liquid crystal panel by setting the value to a low value, wherein the display area of the liquid crystal panel is a first area for displaying a natural image and a second for displaying an artificial image.
- it is characterized by comprising display means for displaying the artificial image by driving it so as not to widen the viewing angle.
- the liquid crystal display unit is divided into a first region for displaying a natural image and a second region for displaying an artificial image, and the pixels included in the first region have a field of view.
- An image is displayed by driving to widen the angle, and an image is displayed by driving the pixels included in the second region so as not to widen the viewing angle.
- the viewing angle is set so as to be widened only for the first region displaying the natural image.
- the liquid crystal display device Accordingly, in the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, only the pixels included in the natural image display area are driven so as to widen the viewing angle. Therefore, when the natural image and the artificial image are simultaneously displayed, the artificial image is displayed. There exists an effect which can prevent that the display quality of an image deteriorates.
- the display area of the liquid crystal panel is divided into a first area for displaying a natural image and a second area for displaying an artificial image, and the natural image displayed in the first area is divided. Displays by driving the pixels so as to widen the viewing angle, and displays the artificial image displayed in the second region by driving the pixels so as not to widen the viewing angle.
- the liquid crystal display device As described above, in the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, only the pixels included in the region displaying the natural image are driven to widen the viewing angle. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the display quality of the artificial image from being deteriorated when the natural image and the artificial image are displayed simultaneously.

Abstract
Description
または、次のように、CPU(Central Processing Unit)を用いてソフトウェアによって実現してもよい。
