The audio parameter setting unit 42 sets audio parameters used when the audio output conversion unit 27 processes an audio signal.
The genre information processing unit 43 discriminates and acquires the genre information of the content from the member that has received the content among the separation unit 16, the external input unit 31, and the recording / playback unit 32.
For example, in digital broadcasting, genre information is classified and associated with major classification and middle classification. The major classification includes, for example, “news / report”, “information / wide show”, “variety”, “movie”, “sports”, and the like. As the middle category, for example, when the major category is “news / report”, there are “regular / comprehensive”, “local / region”, “weather” and the like. In general, one broadcast program (content) is associated with a plurality of large categories of genre information. For example, in the case of sports news, genre information of large categories “news / report” and “sports” is associated, and further, some genre information of medium categories belonging to these are associated. When any of the separation unit 16, the external input unit 31, and the recording / playback unit 32 receives content associated with these genre information, the genre information processing unit 43 displays genre information associated with the content. get. Here, the genre information to be acquired may be a part or all of the genre information associated with the content. Further, the genre information processing unit 43 can determine, for example, whether or not it is derived from a film from the frame frequency of the content.
In the present embodiment, the case where the content received by the television receiver is a digital broadcast will be described, but the same processing can be performed for an analog broadcast. That is, in the case of analog broadcasting, it is possible to acquire genre information by extracting a keyword representing the type of program as genre information by performing audio analysis and image analysis.
(Initial setting screen)
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a screen for inquiring the user whether or not to set the sound quality of the sound when reproducing the content.
When the user turns on the power for the first time after purchasing the television receiver 10, the screen shown in FIG. 2 is displayed.
(Medium setting)
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a screen when the user selects the middle sound setting when setting the favorite sound quality. As shown in this figure, the display control unit 21 of the television receiver 10 first displays on the liquid crystal display device 22 a screen that prompts the user to set medium sound. The term “medium sound” here means a sound in the middle frequency band (voice band). Specifically, for example, a sound in a frequency band from approximately 100 Hz to 8 kHz corresponds to a medium sound.
The display control unit 21 displays a plurality of selection candidates that individually express sounds having any one of a plurality of frequency characteristics that are different from each other in the mid-range and that are equal to each other in the bands other than the mid-range (low range and high range). Is displayed on the display control unit 21. In FIG. 3, five texts “clear sound quality”, “excellent sound quality”, “standard sound quality”, “soft sound quality”, and “sound quality suitable for background sound” are selected as the plurality of selection candidates. Equivalent to. By default, the “standard sound quality” item is selected. The user operates the remote controller 36 to select one of these five selection candidates. The currently selected item is highlighted.
The display control unit 21 displays, for each selection candidate, a sentence explaining the effect of sound quality setting when the selection candidate is selected next to the selection candidate on the screen of FIG. The user can know in advance the effect of sound quality improvement when selecting each selection candidate by reading each sentence.
When the screen of FIG. 3 is displayed, the audio output conversion unit 27 reads the audio signal (MP3 or AAC format) corresponding to the selection item selected by the user from the setting memory 41, Output to the speaker 28. Thereby, a sound corresponding to the item being selected is output from the speaker 28. At this time, the sound is limited to the built-in speaker 28. That is, no sound is emitted from an external speaker. The sound volume can be changed as appropriate. The current volume value is displayed on the screen. If the user changes the selection of the item, the sound output from the speaker 28 is changed accordingly. At this time, a new sound is reproduced from the beginning. By listening to this sound, the user can grasp in advance how the middle sound of the content is heard when the selection of a certain item is confirmed.
The voice output conversion unit 27 outputs a voice from the speaker 28 as a medium sound. Specifically, some sound (for example, conversation or speech) including human speech is output. Thereby, the user can surely grasp how the sound quality of the medium sound of the content is improved.
The user selects one of a plurality of items and finally confirms the selection. For example, when an enter button on the remote controller 36 is pressed, the item being selected can be confirmed. Information for specifying the item thus selected is transmitted to the voice parameter setting unit 42 through the remote control light receiving unit 35.
(Bass / treble setting)
When the setting of the medium sound is completed, the television receiver 10 next performs the favorite sound quality setting of the low sound and the high sound. FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a screen when the user selects the setting of the low tone and the high tone when the favorite sound quality is set. As shown in this figure, the display control unit 21 of the television receiver 10 displays a screen for prompting the user to set a low tone and a high tone on the liquid crystal display device 22. The term “bass” as used herein means a sound in a low frequency band. Specifically, for example, sound in a frequency band from approximately 10 Hz to 100 Hz corresponds to bass. In addition, “treble” means a sound in a high frequency band. Specifically, for example, a sound in a frequency band from about 8 kHz to 20 kHz corresponds to a high tone.
The display control unit 21 has a plurality of sounds that individually express sounds having any one of a plurality of frequency characteristics that are different from each other in the low frequency band and the high frequency band and that are equal to each other in a band (middle frequency band) other than the low frequency band and the high frequency band. The selected item is displayed on the display control unit 21. In FIG. 4, five texts of “more powerful sound quality”, “powerful sound quality”, “standard sound quality”, “sound quality emphasizing voice”, and “sound quality emphasizing voice” are Corresponds to multiple selection items. By default, the item “standard sound quality” is selected, and the user operates the remote controller 36 to select one of these five selection items. The currently selected item is highlighted.
In addition, the display control part 21 displays the text explaining the effect at the time of selecting the said selection item for every selection item on the screen of FIG. 5 next to the said selection item. By reading each sentence, the user can know in advance the effect of sound quality improvement when each selection item is selected.
The television receiver 10 reproduces sound corresponding to the item selected by the user. Specifically, the audio output conversion unit 27 reads out the audio signal (MP3 or AAC format) corresponding to the currently selected item from the setting memory 41 and outputs it from the speaker 28. By listening to this sound, the user can know in advance how the low and high sounds of the content are heard when a certain item is set.
The audio output conversion unit 27 outputs music from the speaker 28 as low and high sounds. Since music contains a lot of bass and treble components, changing the frequency characteristics of bass and treble will greatly change how the music is heard. Therefore, the user can surely grasp how the sound quality of the bass and treble is improved before the selection of the item is confirmed.
The user selects one of a plurality of items and finally confirms the selection. For example, if a determination button on the remote controller 36 is pressed, the item being selected can be confirmed. Which item is selected in this way is notified to the audio parameter setting unit 42 of the television receiver 10.
(Setting completion screen)

In the television receiver 10, the genre information processing unit 43 outputs the acquired genre information to the audio parameter setting unit 42. The audio parameter setting unit 42 specifies the genre of the content based on the input genre information. Then, the parameter corresponding to the specified genre is read from the setting memory 41. FIG. 10 is a diagram showing a list of sound quality parameters corresponding to the genre of content. Different parameters correspond to each genre. Such genre types and parameter values are associated with each other and stored in the setting memory 41 in advance.
Thus, the audio parameter setting unit 42 corrects the parameter set at the time of setting the favorite sound quality with the parameter corresponding to the genre of the content. Specifically, for example, parameter values are combined with each other to obtain a new value, and this value is set as a parameter used during audio processing of content.
According to the above configuration, the television receiver 10 can output audio reflecting both the user's preference and the content genre when the content is reproduced. Therefore, it is possible to output the optimum voice for the user for each genre.
(Setting based on user's hearing)
The television receiver 10 can also set a parameter corresponding to the user's hearing as a parameter for audio of content. This example will be described below with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 11 is a diagram showing a screen for measuring the user's hearing ability. After the user purchases the television receiver 10 for the first time after the purchase, the television receiver 10 displays the screen shown in FIG. 11 before presenting selection items for setting the favorite sound quality to the user. At that time, the audio output conversion unit 27 outputs a specified audio for measuring hearing ability from the speaker 28 with a constant volume. The audio for measuring hearing ability is a person's speaking voice (conversation or speech).
As shown in FIG. 11, the television receiver 10 allows the user to input whether or not the sound for hearing measurement has been heard. The user inputs the listening result by selecting “Yes” or “No” on the screen. The input listening result is transmitted to the display control unit 21 through the remote control light receiving unit 35. After inputting the listening result, the television receiver 10 starts setting the favorite sound quality.
The display control unit 21 displays a plurality of selection items on the liquid crystal display device 22 according to the input contents by the user when setting the favorite sound quality. Specifically, when the user selects “Yes”, the display control unit 21 displays a plurality of selection items for young people (FIG. 12). FIG. 12 is a diagram showing a screen including a plurality of selection items for young people displayed when setting the sound quality of medium sound. On the other hand, when the user selects “No”, the display control unit 21 displays a plurality of selection items for the elderly (FIG. 13). FIG. 13 is a diagram showing a screen including a plurality of selection items for elderly people displayed when setting the sound quality of medium sound.
The average value of the amplitude of the frequency characteristic of the sound expressed by each selection item shown in FIG. 12 takes a certain value. On the other hand, the average value of the amplitude of the frequency characteristic of the sound expressed by each selection item shown in FIG. 13 takes a higher value than the certain value. Therefore, the average value of the amplitudes among the plurality of parameters previously associated with each selection item shown in FIG. 12 is greater than the average value of the amplitudes among the plurality of parameters previously associated with each selection item shown in FIG. It is getting bigger.
According to the above configuration, the television receiver 10 causes the user who is determined to be an elderly person to select the setting of sound that can be heard with a louder sound for the user who is determined to be a youth. Thereby, the optimal sound quality setting according to a user's hearing ability is attained.
When the setting of the medium sound is completed, the television receiver 10 next executes the favorite sound quality setting of the low sound and the high sound. At that time, the screen of FIG. 14 is displayed. FIG. 14 is a diagram illustrating a screen when the user selects the setting of the low tone and the high tone when setting the favorite sound quality. In FIG. 14, seven selection items are displayed. As shown in this figure, the display control unit 21 displays a screen including common selection items on the liquid crystal display device 22 when the user selects low and high sounds regardless of the hearing determination result. This is because the effect of changing the amplitude of bass and treble for young people and elderly people is lower than that of medium sounds. Note that the display control unit 21 displays selection items according to the listening result input by the user on the liquid crystal display device 22 when setting the favorite sound quality for bass and treble as in the case of setting the middle tone. May be.
