Abstract

This invention is intended to provide an apparatus for transferring an article, which apparatus can turn over and transfer the article, which has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, from a first container 1 disposed on a first conveying means 2 to a second container 3 disposed on a second conveying means 4. The apparatus comprises: a first and a second rotating shaft 9, 10 disposed between the first and the second conveying means 2, 4, extending along their directions, wherein the first and the second rotating shaft 9, 10 can independently rotate clockwise and counterclockwise in a vertical plane, and the centers of the rotation of the first and the second rotating shaft 9, 10 coincide with each other, a first driving means 11 to rotate the first rotating shaft 9, a second driving means 12 to rotate the second rotating shaft 10, a first rotating member 13 perpendicularly extending from and fixed to the first rotating shaft 9, which can rotate between the first conveying means 2 and the second conveying means 4, a second rotating member 14 perpendicularly extending from and fixed to the second rotating shaft 10, which shaft 10 can rotate between the second conveying means 4 and the first conveying means 2, and can rotate and transfer the article from the first conveying means 2 to the second conveying means 4 by sandwiching the article between the first rotating member 13 and the second rotating member 14, and via the first container 1 and the second container 3, a first clamping means 21 to clamp the first container 1 to the first rotating member 13, and a second clamping means 28 to clamp the second container 3 to the second rotating member 14.
