Abstract
The invention relates to a device and method for the dynamic study of biofilms on catheters for medical use. The device enables the introduction of multiple samples which can be evaluated simultaneously and, consequently, a number of biomaterials can be analysed in a single experiment. The liquid flows over all of the samples parallel to the axis of the catheter segment, thereby correctly recreating the real flow that occurs when the catheters are implanted. The samples are extracted on an individual basis, thereby preventing the remaining samples from being exposed to the atmosphere and reducing the risk of interferences in the analysis or contamination of the system.
