Abstract

The present invention relates to a control method of geographic information system and to a mobile terminal. According to the present invention, a user with no prior information can easily obtain information about the current location by referring to the location identified by a GPS and a captured image, then matching them to a saved image within a predetermined range. The present invention can minimize errors involved with parts, which cannot be processed mechanically, by comparing the degree of similarity between the image saved in a server and the image captured by the user, and allowing the user to select the compared information. Moreover, the invention can provide tourists with pictures of and information on the animal and plant ecosystem, environment, or major events, and with information on geographic identification and each location.
