Abstract
The present invention relates to a roof-top HVAC system for buses. In particular, there is provided a roof-top HVAC system for buses, which does not require a separate heating device by warming the inside of a vehicle through a heat pump cycle where an engine heat exchanger mounted in an engine room is configured not only to allow a refrigerant to undergo heat exchange with engine-cooling water, but to serve as an evaporator to evaporate the refrigerant and by making an indoor heat exchanger operate as a condenser, and which offers the benefits of high efficiency in maintenance and energy use by cooling the inside of a vehicle through a cooling cycle and by warming the inside of a vehicle through a reverse heat pump cycle of the same system. Further, the installation of an HVAC system according to the present invention can be facilitated as the heat pump cycle is configured utilizing as much of the piping structure from an existing cooling cycle as possible.
