Description
Description A DISPLAY DEVICE
[1] The present invention relates to a display device wherein the panel is fastened to the front frame by means of holders.
[2] After mounting of the pieces comprised by the display devices is completed, quality tests are conducted on the devices. Upon completion of the tests, the devices are forwarded and installation processes are carried out at the place of destination. Display devices are exposed to shocks like vibration, hitting and bumping during mounting, test and transportation. Additionally, as a result of heating of the display device, the panel expands and a pressure occurs on the front frame causing deformation on the structure of the frame.
[3] In the display devices, after a panel is disposed to the front frame, panel holders are arranged on four corners of the frame and the panel is secured to the frame.
[4] In the Great Britain patent document No. GB 1452090, in the state of the art, the frame is mounted to the display tube by means of the holders arranged on four corners of the frame.
[5] In the USA patent document No. US6724445, in the state of the art, there are two protrusions on the plastic holders that are disposed on the corners of the frame. The holders stretch when a shock is received by the protrusions in the same plane with the panel (in x and y axes) and damp the received shocks and vibrations.
[6] The objective of the present invention is to realize a display device comprising a holder which provides resilience to the frame and the panel against shocks and vibrations.
[7] The display device realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention and defined in Claim 1 and in its dependent claims comprises a panel, a frame and four holders that hold the panel and the frame from their four corners.
[8] The holder comprises an "L" shaped profile, a fin at each side of the inner part of the profile that will touch the panel, an elastic member that forms a diagonal bridge between the sides of the profile and holes on the lower surface of the profile.
[9] The fin is a resilient structure, which is connected to the profile at one side; formed in the inner part of the profile such that after the holder is disposed on the panel it will be on a plane perpendicular to the panel and which protrudes towards the inner part of the panel. The elastic member is a resilient structure formed on the same plane with the panel. The elastic member contacts the corners of the panel from its back surface and holds the corners.
[10] After the panel is disposed on the frame, holders are positioned on the panel from four corners thereof. When positioning is completed, the corners of the panel are
located between two fins that are perpendicular to the panel and under an elastic member that is parallel to the panel.
[11] When a force is applied to the panel from its front surface, the elastic member stretches towards inside of the display device to damp this force and prevent the panel from getting damaged. The forces coming towards the frame of the panel are damped by stretching of the fins towards the sides of the frame.
[12] In the inventive display device, the shocks received by the panel are prevented from damaging the panel by providing stretching capacity of certain ratios to the panel towards all three axes (X, Y, Z).
[13] The display device realized to fulfill the objective of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures in which,
[14] Figure 1 is the perspective view of the inventive display device.
[15] Figure 2 is the perspective view of the inventive display device and the holder that is mounted thereon.
[16] Figure 3 is the front perspective view of a holder.
[17] Figure 4 is the rear perspective view of a holder.
[18] The components shown in the figures are numbered as follows:
[19] 1. Display device
[20] 2. Panel
[21] 3. Frame
[22] 4. Holder
[23] 5. Profile
[24] 6. Fin
[25] 7. Elastic member
[26] 8. Hole
[27] 9. Protrusion
[28] The display device (1) comprises a panel (2), a frame (3) surrounding and holding the panel (2), and holders (4) that are disposed on the back of the frame (3) such that they will secure the panel (2) onto the frame (3) from its corners.
[29] The holder (4) comprises an "L" shaped profile (5); resilient fins (6) which is positioned on each side of the inner part of the profile (5) and which damps the shocks coming to the panel (2) from bottom, top and sides; an elastic member (7) which connects the ends of the two sides of the profile (5) to each other like a diagonal and damps the shocks coming to the panel (2) from its front surface; and at least one hole (8) at the lower part of the profile (5) where it will be fastened to the frame (3).
[30] The frame (3) comprises protrusions (9) on its corners where the profile (5) will be fitted. There is a slot at the end part of each protrusion (9) corresponding to the hole (8) when the profile (5) is fitted onto the frame (3).
[31] The fin (6) is connected from one of its ends to the inner surface of the profile (5) and the other three ends are exposed protruding towards inside of the profile (5). The fins (6) are facing the space below the elastic member (7).
[32] During mounting of the inventive display device (1), when the panel (2) is disposed onto the middle part of the frame (3), the protrusions (9) surround the corners of the panel (2). When one of the holders (4) is being mounted to the frame (3), the holder (4) is positioned allowing the protrusions (9) to fit into the holes (8). Thus, the holder (4) is arranged on the corners of the panel (2) such that there will be a fin (6) next to and an elastic member (7) above each side of the panel (2). The sides of the panel (2) contact the fins (6) and the back surface of the panel (2) contacts the elastic member (7). Upon completion of the positioning, each corner of the panel (2) remains between the fins (6), and the panel (2) is supported from its back by the elastic members (7). After the panel (2) and the holders are positioned on the frame (3), at the last stage, a connection member like a screw is placed in the holes (8) and the slots of the protrusions (9) and the panel (2), frame (3) and holder (4) are fastened to each other.
[33] In the inventive display device (1), shocks coming from the sides, bottom, top and the front face of the panel (2), in other words from all three axes (X, Y and Z), are damped and the panel (2) is enabled to stretch towards three axes and it is prevented from being easily damaged by the coming shocks.
