- the sensor element include a combustion pressure sensor, a knock sensor, an acceleration sensor, a load sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, a pressure sensor, and a yaw rate sensor.
- Examples of the circuit element include a piezoelectric gyro, a piezoelectric switch, a piezoelectric transformer, and a piezoelectric breaker.
- a conductive paste including a conductive material such as silver and glass is used as an external electrode in a conventional laminated piezoelectric element.
- An external electrode is formed by applying this conductive paste to the side surface of the laminate and baking it.
- the multilayer piezoelectric element is required to ensure a large amount of displacement under a large pressure at the same time as miniaturization proceeds. For this reason, it is required that a higher electric field is applied and that the device can be used under severe conditions of continuous driving for a long time.
- JP 2005-174974 A JP 2005-174974 A
- a part of the external electrode is a multilayer body when used under severe conditions such as high electric field, high pressure, or continuous driving for a long time. There is a possibility of peeling from the side.
- the element expands in the stacking direction and contracts in the direction orthogonal to the stacking direction by energization. Due to this expansion and contraction, the side surface of the laminate is warped, and stress is applied to the joint between the side surface of the laminate and the external electrode. Due to this stress, the external electrode may be warped and peeled off from the side surface of the multilayer body, and part of the internal electrode may not be energized, which may reduce the displacement amount of the multilayer piezoelectric element.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a multilayer piezoelectric element in which a decrease in displacement amount in use under the above severe conditions is improved.
- a multilayer piezoelectric element of the present invention has a plurality of piezoelectric bodies and a plurality of internal electrodes, and a stacked body in which the piezoelectric bodies and the internal electrodes are alternately stacked, An external electrode formed on a side surface of the multilayer body, wherein the external electrode has a base portion and a first convex portion projecting outward from the base portion. ing.
- an ejection device includes any one of the multilayer piezoelectric elements described above and ejection holes, and discharges liquid from the ejection holes by driving the multilayer piezoelectric element.
- the fuel injection system of the present invention includes a common rail that includes high-pressure fuel, the above-described injection device that injects fuel stored in the common rail, and an injection control system that provides a drive signal to the injection device. .
- the external electrode since the external electrode has the first convex portion protruding outward, warpage at the external electrode is suppressed. Therefore, peeling of the external electrode from the laminate is suppressed. As a result, since it is possible to stably energize the internal electrodes, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the displacement amount of the multilayer piezoelectric element.

- FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a multilayer piezoelectric element according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
- 2 is a cross-sectional view of the element shown in FIG. 1 in a cross section parallel to the stacking direction.
- FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of a portion provided with the first convex portion in FIG.
- the element 1 includes a plurality of piezoelectric layers 3 and a plurality of internal electrodes 5, and a stacked body in which the piezoelectric layers 3 and the internal electrodes 5 are alternately stacked. 7.
- the external electrodes 9 are respectively positioned on two opposing side surfaces of the multilayer body 7 and are electrically connected alternately to the end portions of the internal electrodes 5 every other layer.
- the external electrode 9 has the base 9a and the 1st convex part 9b which protrudes toward the outer side from the base 9a.
- the external electrode 9 has the first convex portion 9b, warpage of the external electrode 9 is suppressed for the following reason, and peeling of the external electrode 9 from the laminate 7 is suppressed.
- the external electrode 9 since the side surface of the element 1 is warped, a stress that causes warping of the external electrode 9 acts.
- the external electrode 9 since the external electrode 9 includes the first convex portion 9b that protrudes outward, the first convex portion 9b plays the role of a splint. Power). Therefore, warpage of the laminate 7 and the external electrode 9 is suppressed. Thereby, peeling from the laminated body 7 of the external electrode 9 is suppressed.
- the height (size) H of the first convex portion 9b is preferably 0.5 ⁇ m or more.
- the height of the first convex portion 9b is more preferably 5 ⁇ m or more.
- the height of the 1st convex part 9b means the height of the top part of the 1st convex part 9b on the basis of the surface of the base 9a, as shown in FIG. Further, when the surface of the base 9a serving as a reference has irregularities (surface roughness), the center line in the surface roughness curve of the base is used as a reference.
- corrugation by surface roughness and the 1st convex part 9b can be distinguished clearly as follows. That is, the protrusions included in the unevenness due to the surface roughness are formed on the external electrode 9 due to the bulging of crystal particles constituting the external electrode 9 on the surface of the external electrode 9, the polishing treatment of the surface of the external electrode 9, the heat treatment of the external electrode 9, etc. Therefore, the size of the convex portion is approximately the same as the size of the crystal particles constituting the external electrode 9.
- the size of the first convex portion 9b is larger than the size of the crystal particles constituting the external electrode 9. Much larger size. Therefore, by observing the surface of the base portion 9a and the surface of the first convex portion 9b with a microscope, the convex portions included in the concave and convex portions due to the surface roughness can be confirmed on those surfaces, so that the first convex portion 9b can be easily distinguished from the protrusions included in the unevenness due to the surface roughness.
- the external electrodes 9 are located on two opposing side surfaces of the multilayer body 7, but are located on two adjacent side surfaces of the multilayer body 7 or on the same side surface. May be.
- FIG. 4A is a side view of a portion provided with a first convex portion in the multilayer piezoelectric element according to the second embodiment.
- the first convex portion 9b As the first convex portion 9b, a hemispherical shape in which the width in the direction parallel to the stacking direction S and the width in the direction P perpendicular to the stacking direction S are substantially equal. Shaped ones are provided.
- FIG. 4A when the element 1 is viewed from the side, when the boundary between the base portion 9a and the first convex portion 9b is a curve, stress is locally concentrated on a part of the boundary. Is suppressed. Thereby, the stress can be dispersed over a wide range.
- FIG. 4B is a side view of the multilayer piezoelectric element according to the third embodiment and provided with a first convex portion.
- the first protrusion 9b preferably has a lateral length L2 in the direction P perpendicular to the stacking direction S larger than the longitudinal length L1 in the direction parallel to the stacking direction S.
- a stress is applied to the external electrode 9 such that the external electrode 9 warps in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction S due to shrinkage. Therefore, by having the 1st convex part 9b which is said shape, the effect as a splint of the 1st convex part 9b can further be heightened.
- the longitudinal length L1 and the lateral length L2 are defined and used as follows. That is, the longitudinal length L1 is the two imaginary lines obtained by virtually drawing two straight lines perpendicular to the stacking direction S and in contact with the outer periphery of the first convex portion 9b on the surface of the base portion 9a of the external electrode 9. Defined by the interval.
- the lateral length L2 is the two imaginary lines obtained by virtually drawing two straight lines that are parallel to the stacking direction S on the surface of the base portion 9a of the external electrode 9 and that are in contact with the outer periphery of the first convex portion 9b. Defined by the interval.
- the surface of the base portion 9a of the external electrode 9 is a plane substantially parallel to the side surface of the multilayer body 7 on which the external electrode 9 is formed.
- FIG. 4C is a side view of the multilayer piezoelectric element according to the fourth embodiment and provided with a first convex portion.
- the first convex portion 9b is formed to be parallel to the lamination surface of the multilayer body 7, that is, the longitudinal direction of the first convex portion 9b is orthogonal to the lamination direction S. Further preferred.
- contraction which warps with respect to the direction P orthogonal to the lamination direction S regarding the base part 9a of the external electrode 9 can be suppressed further.
- the first convex portion 9 b is preferably formed from one end portion in the width direction of the external electrode 9 to the other end portion.
- One end and the other end in the width direction of the external electrode 9 are relatively easy to peel off, but since there is a first convex portion 9b in this portion, one end and the other end in the width direction of the external electrode 9 The possibility that the end portion of the layer is peeled off from the laminate 7 can be reduced.
- the first convex portion 9b is formed on one end portion and the other end portion in the width direction of the external electrode 9, it is possible to reduce the deviation of the warp in the width direction. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the stress from being concentrated on a part of the external electrode 9. As a result, the possibility of peeling of the external electrode 9 from the laminate 7 can be further reduced.
- FIG. 5 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of a portion of the multilayer piezoelectric element according to the fifth embodiment provided with a first convex portion.
- the first convex portion 9 b is preferably located on the side of the internal electrode 5 so as to face the end of the internal electrode 5. Since the first convex portion 9b that suppresses the warp of the base portion 9a and enhances the bonding property between the external electrode 9 and the laminate 7 is positioned on the side of the internal electrode 5, the bonding between the internal electrode 5 and the external electrode 9 is performed. Can increase the sex. Thereby, since a voltage can be stably applied to the internal electrode 5 via the external electrode 9, even when the element 1 is used for a long time, a decrease in displacement is suppressed.
- a plurality of the first convex portions 9b are provided in parallel in the stacking direction S.
- first protrusions 9b it is possible to disperse the stress in each of the first protrusions 9b.
- warping can be suppressed in a wide range in the stacking direction S of the external electrodes 9 for the following reasons.
- the external electrode 9 is more likely to warp as the distance from the first convex portion 9b increases.
- the plurality of first protrusions 9b are provided in the stacking direction S, the portions sandwiched between the two first protrusions 9b are the first protrusions at both ends in the stacking direction S, respectively. Since the warpage is suppressed at 9b, the warpage can be greatly reduced in the entire region. That is, these two first protrusions 9b act separately to suppress the warping of the external electrode 9, but interact with each other to suppress the warping of the external electrode 9.
- the first protrusion 9b has a number of layers equal to or less than 1/2 of the total number of layers of the internal electrode 5 in the multilayer body 7, preferably every number of layers equal to or less than 1/8 of the total number of layers, more preferably It is preferable that each layer be provided for each number of 1/15 or less of the total number of layers. Since the number of the first protrusions 9b is increased by forming the first protrusions 9b for every number of layers equal to or less than 1 ⁇ 2 of the total number of layers of the internal electrodes 5 in the laminate 7, the number of the first protrusions 9b increases. 9 can reduce variations in bonding strength in the stacking direction S.
- a plurality of first protrusions 9b exist regularly, that is, a plurality of first protrusions 9b are arranged according to a certain rule.
- the plurality of first protrusions 9b are regularly provided, so that variation in stress applied to the joint surface between the multilayer body 7 and the external electrode 9 is reduced, and a part of the joint surface between the multilayer body 7 and the external electrode 9 is obtained. It is possible to suppress the concentration of stress on the surface. And since the dispersion
- the plurality of first protrusions 9b are regularly arranged is not limited to the case where the intervals at which the plurality of first protrusions 9b are arranged are all the same.
- the arrangement interval of the first projections 9b is preferably within a range of ⁇ 20%, more preferably within a range of ⁇ 15% with respect to the average value of the arrangement intervals of the first projections 9b. More preferably, they are all the same.
- the first protrusions 9b be regularly arranged in the central portion in the stacking direction S of the stacked body 7 with a large amount of piezoelectric displacement. Furthermore, the arrangement
- the external electrode 9 has a second convex portion 9c that protrudes inward at a position corresponding to the first convex portion 9b. preferable.
- the external electrode 9 can partially have a greater thickness. Therefore, the effect as a splint by the 1st convex part 9b and the 2nd convex part 9c is acquired.
- this 2nd convex part 9c acts as a wedge. Therefore, the bondability between the laminate 7 and the external electrode 9 can be improved.
- FIG. 6 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of a portion of the multilayer piezoelectric element according to the sixth embodiment provided with a first convex portion.
- the laminated body 7 preferably includes a low-rigidity layer 11 having a lower rigidity than the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5.
- the low rigidity layer 11 has lower rigidity than the internal electrode 5 and the piezoelectric layer 3. Therefore, when stress is applied to the element 1, the low rigidity layer 11 is preferentially broken. By breaking the low-rigidity layer 11 in this way, the stress applied to the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5 can be reduced, so that the possibility that the internal electrode 5 and the piezoelectric layer 3 are damaged can be reduced.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 refers to a layer having a lower rigidity and a lower rigidity compared to the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5 and / or a bonding force with an adjacent layer.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 is made of a material having rigidity lower than that of the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5, or a layer containing more voids than the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5.
- the rigidity is reduced.
- the rigidity of the low-rigidity layer 11, the piezoelectric layer 3, and the internal electrode 5 can be easily compared by applying a load from the direction P orthogonal to the stacking direction S to the element 1, for example. Specifically, it can be determined by applying a load from the direction P perpendicular to the stacking direction S to the element 1 by a JIS three-point bending test (JIS R 1601) or the like. This is because it is sufficient to confirm at which part the element 1 breaks when the above test is performed.
- the broken portion is a portion having the lowest rigidity in the element 1.
- the element 1 of the sixth embodiment includes the low-rigidity layer 11, when the JIS three-point bending test is performed, the low-rigidity layer 11 or the low-rigidity layer 11 and the piezoelectric element are compared to the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5. Breaking easily occurs at the interface with the body layer 3. Therefore, the presence / absence of the low-rigidity layer 11 is confirmed depending on whether the broken portion is the piezoelectric layer 3 or the internal electrode 5 or the interface between the low-rigidity layer 11 or the low-rigidity layer 11 and the piezoelectric layer 3. can do.
- the first convex portion 9 b is positioned at least on the side of the low-rigidity layer 11.
- the stress applied to the element 1 is relaxed by breaking the low-rigidity layer 11.
- cracks are relatively likely to occur in a portion of the external electrode 9 that is located on the side of the low-rigidity layer 11.
- the first convex portion 9b having a large thickness is located at least on the side of the low-rigidity layer 11, the possibility of the breakage of the external electrode 9, particularly the base portion 9a, due to the extension of the crack. Can be reduced.
- FIG. 7A is a cross-sectional view of a multilayer piezoelectric element according to the seventh embodiment, which is a plane that is orthogonal to the stacking direction S and includes a low-rigidity layer.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 preferably has a plurality of metal portions 15 that are separated from each other via a gap 13. This is because the metal component is easily deformed and thus has a great effect of relieving stress.
- the material is different from the piezoelectric particles constituting the piezoelectric layer 3 adjacent in the stacking direction S, the cracks generated in the metal part 15 are easily retained inside the metal part 15 or the surface of the metal part 15. . As a result, it is possible to prevent cracks from extending in the piezoelectric layer 3.
- each metal part 15 is more easily displaced.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 has the gap 13, a part of the external electrode 9 can easily enter the gap 13. Therefore, the external electrode 9 and the side surface of the multilayer body 7 can be more firmly joined by the anchor effect.
- FIG. 7B is a cross-sectional view of a multilayered piezoelectric element according to the eighth embodiment, which is a plane that is orthogonal to the stacking direction S and includes a low-rigidity layer.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 has a plurality of ceramic portions 17 that are separated from each other via a gap 13. Since the plurality of ceramic portions 17 are separated from each other via the gap 13, each ceramic portion 17 is easily deformed. Therefore, the rigidity can be reduced and the stress applied to the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5 can be reduced.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 is constituted by the ceramic portion 17 that is an insulator, so that an electrical short circuit is caused. The possibility of occurring can be reduced.
- the ceramic portion 17 is composed of the same component as the piezoelectric layer 3. As a result, the bondability between the low-rigidity layer 11 and the piezoelectric layer 3 can be improved, so that the outer shape of the element 1 can be easily maintained.
- FIG. 8 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of a multilayer piezoelectric element according to the ninth embodiment, which is provided with a first convex portion.
- the first convex portion has a plurality of first convex portions 9 b located on the side of the internal electrode 5 and the low-rigidity layer 11, and is located on the lateral side of the low-rigidity layer 11. It is preferable that the height of 9b is larger than the height of the 1st convex part 9b located in the side of the internal electrode 5.
- the portion where the first convex portion 9b is located on the side has a high bondability because warpage is suppressed by the first convex portion 9b.
- the internal electrode 5 in order to energize the internal electrode 5, it is necessary to improve the bondability between the internal electrode 5 and the base portion 9a.
- cracks are generated in the low-rigidity layer 11.
- stress tends to concentrate on the highly bondable part of the laminate 7 and the external electrode 9. Therefore, by having the first convex portion 9b having the above-described form, it is possible to improve the bondability between the internal electrode 5 and the external electrode 9 while relaxing the stress by the low-rigidity layer 11.
- a ceramic green sheet to be the piezoelectric layer 3 is produced. Specifically, a calcined powder of piezoelectric ceramic, a binder composed of an acrylic or butyral organic polymer, and a plasticizer are mixed to prepare a slurry. And a ceramic green sheet is produced from this slurry by using tape forming methods, such as a known doctor blade method and a calender roll method.
- the piezoelectric ceramic may be any piezoelectric ceramic, and for example, a perovskite oxide made of PbZrO 3 —PbTiO 3 can be used.
- the plasticizer dibutyl phthalate (DBP), dioctyl phthalate (DOP), or the like can be used.
- a conductive paste to be the internal electrode 5 is produced.
- a conductive paste can be produced by adding and mixing a binder and a plasticizer to a metal powder such as a silver-palladium alloy.
- the conductive paste is disposed on the ceramic green sheet using a screen printing method, and is fired as described later, whereby the piezoelectric layer 3 and the internal electrode 5 can be formed.
- the low rigidity layer 11 is, for example, a slurry to which more binder is added than the conductive paste to be the internal electrode 5, a slurry to which more binder is added than the slurry to be the piezoelectric layer 3, or the internal electrode 5. It can be formed by using a slurry in which acrylic beads are mixed into the conductive paste or the slurry to be the piezoelectric layer 3.
- the binder and the scattered components of the acrylic beads are scattered in the firing and degreasing processes.
- the metal part 15 or the ceramic part 17 spaced apart from each other can be formed.
- the method of forming the low rigidity layer 11 is not limited to the above method.
- the low-rigidity layer 11 having the above-described configuration can also be formed by changing the frequency of the screen mesh or the pattern shape.
- the conductive paste is similarly insufficiently passed, and thus the low-rigidity layer 11 as described above can be formed.
- a substantially circular shape such as an ellipse or a circle is preferable because it has a high effect of relieving stress.
- the external electrode 9 is formed so as to be electrically connected to the piezoelectric layer 3 whose end is exposed on the outer surface of the multilayer piezoelectric element 1.
- the external electrode 9 can be obtained by adding a binder to silver powder and glass powder to produce a silver glass paste, and printing and drying and bonding or baking.
- the silver glass conductive paste is screen-printed on the portion to be the base portion 9a
- the silver glass conductive paste is again screened only on the portion to be the first convex portion 9b. Print it out. That is, as one method for forming the first convex portion 9b, a screen in which a portion other than the first convex portion 9b is masked may be used.
- a groove is formed at a position where the second convex portion 9c on the outer surface of the multilayer piezoelectric element 1 is to be formed using a device such as dicing, and a silver is formed thereon.
- the silver glass conductive paste is disposed in the groove portion, and the second convex portion 9c can be formed.
- the baking temperature of the silver glass conductive paste may be a temperature equal to or higher than the softening point of the glass component contained in the silver glass conductive paste in order to easily fill the gap 13 with the silver glass conductive paste. preferable.
- the laminate 7 on which the external electrodes 9 are formed is immersed in a resin solution containing an exterior resin made of silicone rubber. Then, the resin solution is vacuum degassed to bring the silicone resin into close contact with the uneven portions on the outer peripheral side surface of the laminate 7, and then the laminate 7 is pulled up from the resin solution. Thereby, the silicone resin is coated on the side surface of the laminate 7. Then, the lead wire is connected to the external electrode 9 as a current-carrying portion with a conductive adhesive or the like.
- each piezoelectric layer 3 can be largely displaced by the inverse piezoelectric effect. This makes it possible to function as an automobile fuel injection valve that injects and supplies fuel to the engine, for example.
- FIG. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing an injection device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the element 1 typified by the above-described embodiment is stored in a storage device 23 having an injection hole 21 at one end.
- a needle valve 25 capable of opening and closing the injection hole 21 is disposed.
- a fluid passage 27 is disposed in the injection hole 21 so as to be able to communicate with the movement of the needle valve 25.
- the fluid passage 27 is connected to an external fluid supply source, and fluid is constantly supplied to the fluid passage 27 at a high pressure. Therefore, when the needle valve 25 opens the injection hole 21, the fluid supplied to the fluid passage 27 is ejected to the outside or an adjacent container, for example, a fuel chamber (not shown) of the internal combustion engine. .
- the upper end portion of the needle valve 25 has a large diameter, and a cylinder 29 formed in the storage device 23 and a slidable piston 31 are disposed. In the storage device 23, the element 1 described above is stored.
- the fluid channel 33 may be opened by applying a voltage to the element 1 and the fluid channel 33 may be closed by stopping the application of the voltage.
- the injection device 19 of the present invention includes a container having the injection hole 21 and the element 1 described above, and is configured to discharge the fluid filled in the container from the injection hole 21 by driving the element 1. May be.
- the element 1 does not necessarily have to be inside the container, and it is sufficient if the element 1 is driven so that pressure is applied to the inside of the container.
- the fluid includes various liquid fluids (such as conductive paste) and gas in addition to fuel and ink.
- injection device 19 that employs the element 1 of the present embodiment is used in an internal combustion engine, fuel can be injected into the fuel chamber of the internal combustion engine such as an engine more accurately for a longer period of time than the conventional injection device 19.
- FIG. 10 is a schematic view showing a fuel injection system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the fuel injection system 35 of the present embodiment includes a common rail 37 that stores high-pressure fluid, a plurality of the injection devices 19 that inject the fluid stored in the common rail 37, and high-pressure fluid in the common rail 37. And a pressure control unit 41 for supplying a drive signal to the spray device 19.
- the ejection control unit 41 controls the amount and timing of fluid ejection based on external information or an external signal. For example, when an injection control unit is used for fuel injection of the engine, the amount and timing of fuel injection can be controlled while sensing the condition in the combustion chamber of the engine with a sensor or the like.
- the pressure pump 39 plays a role of feeding fluid fuel from the fuel tank 43 to the common rail 37 at a high pressure.
- the fuel is fed into the common rail 37 at about 1000 to 2000 atmospheres (about 101 MPa to about 203 MPa), preferably about 1500 to 1700 atmospheres (about 152 MPa to about 172 MPa).
- the injection device 19 injects a certain fluid from the injection hole 21 to the outside or an adjacent container.
- fuel is injected into the combustion chamber in the form of a mist.
- a piezoelectric actuator provided with the multilayer piezoelectric element 1 was produced as follows. First, a slurry was prepared by mixing a calcined powder of a piezoelectric ceramic mainly composed of lead zirconate titanate (PbZrO 3 —PbTiO 3 ) having an average particle size of 0.4 ⁇ m, a binder, and a plasticizer. Using this slurry, a ceramic green sheet serving as the piezoelectric layer 3 having a thickness of 150 ⁇ m was prepared by a doctor blade method.
- a ceramic green sheet serving as the piezoelectric layer 3 having a thickness of 150 ⁇ m was prepared by a doctor blade method.
- a binder was added to the silver-palladium alloy to prepare a conductive paste A to be the internal electrode 5. Further, acrylic beads having an average particle size of 0.5 ⁇ m were added to the conductive paste A so that the volume was 200% by volume with respect to 100% by volume of the silver-palladium alloy.
- gap 13 was produced.
- the conductive paste A or the conductive paste B was printed on one side of the ceramic green sheet by a screen printing method. In addition, 300 sheets on which these conductive pastes A and B were printed were laminated. The laminate 7 was obtained by firing at 980 to 1100 ° C.
- the conductive paste A was printed on one side of the ceramic green sheet with a thickness of 4 ⁇ m by screen printing. And 300 ceramic green sheets on which this conductive paste A was printed were laminated. Further, the laminate 7 was obtained by firing at 980 to 1100 ° C.
- conductive paste A or conductive paste B was printed with a thickness of 4 ⁇ m on one side of the ceramic green sheet by screen printing.
- the ceramic green sheets on which the conductive pastes A and B are printed are arranged so that the ceramic green sheets on which the conductive paste B is printed are arranged for every 20 layers of the ceramic green sheets on which the conductive paste A is printed.
- 300 sheets were laminated. Further, the laminate 7 was obtained by firing at 980 to 1100 ° C.
- the 1st convex part 9b was formed in thickness of 7 micrometers by printing a silver glass paste again in the part in which the 1st convex part 9b is located. Thereafter, the external electrode 9 was formed by baking at 700 ° C. for 30 minutes.
- the second convex portion 9c protruding inward by embedding the silver glass paste in a portion corresponding to the low-rigidity layer 11 was formed. It had been.
- the outer surface of the external electrode 9 was flat and did not have the first convex portion 9b. As shown in Table 1, the displacement amount decreased from 40 ⁇ m to 30 ⁇ m after driving 1 ⁇ 10 9 times.
- the external electrode 9 does not have the first convex portion 9b, and thus a part of the external electrode 9 is peeled off from the side surface of the multilayer body 7. As a result, a disconnection occurs between a part of the internal electrode 5 and the external electrode 9, and the voltage is not supplied to a part of the piezoelectric layers 3, so that the amount of displacement is reduced.
- sample numbers 2 and 3 have a first end 9 b in the external electrode 9. Therefore, the bonding strength between the laminate 7 and the external electrode 9 could be increased. Actually, even after driving 1 ⁇ 10 9 times, no decrease in displacement was confirmed, and in all cases, the same displacement 40 ⁇ m as before the continuous drive test was obtained.
