Abstract

 本発明は、駆動電圧が低く、発光効率の高い有機EL素子を提供する。本発明は、陽極と陰極の間に、正孔注入層、正孔輸送層、発光層、電子輸送層、電子注入層が設けられている有機EL素子に関し、この有機EL素子は、正孔注入層は電子受容性不純物が正孔注入層材料にドープされたものであり、前記正孔注入層の正孔注入層材料のイオン化ポテンシャルIp(HIL)、正孔輸送層材料のイオン化ポテンシャルIp(HTL)、発光層材料のイオン化ポテンシャルIp(EML)の各々が、Ip(EML)>Ip(HTL)≧Ip(HIL)≧Ip(EML)-0.4eVの関係を満たすことを特徴とする。
