　充分な筐体の強度を確保しつつ、筐体のセット厚み方向の薄型化及び小型化を可能とする携帯電子機器を提供すること。 　携帯電話機１は、略平板形状の第１筐体３と、第１筐体３に対してヒンジ部４を介して接続される下側筐体２とを備える。ヒンジ部４は、第１筐体３内に固定される固定部２１を有し、第１筐体３は、端部が第１筐体３の厚み方向に折り曲げられた折り曲げ部３４を有する板金部材３３を備える。板金部材３３の折り曲げ部３４は、ネジ孔３４ａを有し、第１筐体３の厚み方向に直交する方向にネジ孔３４ａに挿通されるネジ２８により、固定部２１に対して共締めされる。
