Abstract

[PROBLEMS] An airbag device is installed in position without forming a locking groove and a cutout in a positioning member. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A structure for installing an airbag device (1) on a steering wheel (3). The airbag device (1) is adapted to expand an airbag by gas from an inflator (2). Positioning members (4, 8a) are arranged at their respective corresponding positioning positions on the airbag device (1) and a core (8). Opposite ends (9a, 9b) of an omega spring (9) are inserted into an insertion section (8b) of the core (8) to fix the omega spring (9) in the core (8). In insertion of the airbag device (1) into the positioning positions, an engagement member (5) engaging with the omega spring (9) is installed on the airbag device (1). The steering wheel (3) has an urging member (7) for urging the airbag device (1) toward a vehicle occupant. The omega spring (9) has projections (9c) at portions which extend from intermediate sections (9d) to the opposite ends (9a, 9b) of the omega spring (9) and which are located on those sides of the omega spring (9) which face the core (8) at the time of the insertion. [EFFECT] When the airbag device is installed in position, noise caused by vibration of the steering wheel is suppressed.
