Abstract

 特異的に短波な発光が見られ、高い発光効率を示し、且つ駆動電圧が低く、発光寿命の長い有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子、それを用いた照明装置及び表示装置を提供することを課題とし、該有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子は、下記一般式(1)の部分構造で表される金属錯体を含有することを特徴とする。   【化1】 (式中、E1、E2、E3、E4、E5、E6、E7、E8、E9、E10、E11は炭素原子、-CRa、窒素原子または-NRbを表す。Ra、Rbは水素原子または置換基を表し、同一でも異なっていてもよいが、少なくとも一つは置換基である。X1、X2、X3は炭素原子、窒素原子、酸素原子または硫黄原子を表すが、少なくとも一つは酸素原子または硫黄原子を表す。Mは元素周期表における8~10族の遷移金属元素を表す。)
