Abstract

 早期から確実に改質を行いアノードの酸化劣化をより確実に防止することのできる燃料電池システムの起動方法を提供する。炭化水素系燃料を改質して水素含有ガスを製造する、改質触媒層を有する改質器と、水素含有ガスを用いて発電を行う高温型燃料電池とを有する燃料電池システムの起動方法であって、a)改質触媒層の温度を測定しつつ改質触媒層を昇温する工程、b)測定された改質触媒層の温度に基づいて改質触媒層において改質可能な炭化水素系燃料の流量を算出する工程、および、c)算出された流量の炭化水素系燃料を、改質触媒層に供給して改質し、得られた改質ガスを高温型燃料電池のアノードに供給する工程を有し、炭化水素系燃料の改質触媒層への供給量が起動完了時の流量になるまで、工程bおよびcを繰り返しながら、炭化水素系燃料の改質触媒層への供給量を増加させる。この方法に好適な燃料電池システム。
