Abstract

A heat exchanger (300a) having tubes (4), an entrance header (1) for distributing a heat exchange medium (R) to the tubes (4), and an exit header for recovering the heat exchange medium (R) from the tubes (4). The entrance header (1) includes a forward path (31) extending from the lower side to the upper side, a return path (32) extending from the upper side to the lower side, an upper communication opening (33p) located at the upper part of the return path (32) and communicating with the upper part of the forward path (31), and a lower communication opening (34p) located at the lower part of the return path (32) and communicating with the lower part of the forward path (31). The tubes (4) are connected to the return path (32), and an upper inner surface (4s) of an uppermost tube (4a) of the tubes (4) is located below a lower end section (33a) of the upper communication opening (33p). The entrance header (1) further includes a discharge mechanism (11) for ejecting the heat exchange medium (R) from the lower part of the forward path (31) to its upper side.
