Abstract

A transmission device has a configuration in which an interface connected to an Ethernet line to which one or more services are set is included and by controlling the interface according to the set effective band by a band control unit, a frame for the service is transmitted from the interface. In the transmission device, a CAC calculation unit calculates the effective band assigned to the interface from the envisaged frame size that is envisaged as the frame size for transmission and sets the setting of the band control unit to the calculated effective band. The transmission device in which the envisaged frame size and/or a transmission overhead size is obtained from the frame that is received as the frame to be transmitted from the interface, the CAC calculation unit calculates the effective band from the envisaged frame size and/or the transmission overhead size that is obtained, and the CAC calculation unit is controlled so as to update the setting of the band control unit with the calculated effective band.
