Description
Engagement bracket for connection of rings in a fish farm.
The present invention relates to an engagement bracket for connection of rings in a fish farm, where the engagement bracket is arranged to encircle and secure a number of adjacent lying rings.
The invention relates to divisible engagement brackets which can easily be assembled on a ready-made welded ring. In that the engagement bracket is also divisible for upper rail pipes, this will relieve and simplify enormously the assembly, as the engagement bracket can also be assembled over a ready-made welded rail pipe such that a significant simplification is achieved both at assembly and at maintenance/repair.
From known technology EP 530 270 Bl shall be pointed out, which concerns netpen rings equipped with divisible engagement brackets.
The engagement bracket according to the invention can also be separated from and also replaced on the water during operation. All parts in the elements can be replaced whilst the netpen lies on the sea. Initially the engagement bracket according to the invention is without welding and has buoyancy. Consequently this gives unique possibilities for maintenance and for repair of damage. Smooth surfaces also make it easy to keep clean.
An other advantage which can be mentioned is that the engagement bracket has integrated net anchorage points through the element. The engagement bracket can be assembled around triple pipes which gives increased buoyancy, increased safety and which can function almost as a "walkway". In addition, pipes can be brought in through the feedthroughs in the elements, for secondary safety and/or for improvement of the "walkway".
The engagement bracket can also have hidden integrated stopping blocks. In addition, it does not "fish" nets etc., and does not get snagged.
It is an object of the present invention to produce an engagement bracket for a netpen which is cheaper and simpler to manufacture, and which is easy to assemble or dismantle to/from a number of rings in a fish farm.
The above mentioned objects are achieved with an engagement bracket as described in the independent claim 1, in that the engagement bracket is divisible and comprises a lower part and an upper part arranged for assembly around said number of rings, as the engagement bracket when assembled comprises a number of through-going openings to receive said rings, and that the engagement bracket comprises a detachable and divisible rail support.
Alternative embodiments are characterised by the dependent claims 2-9.
The invention shall now be described further with the help of the enclosed figures; in which Figure 1 shows a part of a fish farm netpen with three rings and a number of engagement brackets according to the invention.
Figure 2 shows in perspective an engagement bracket according to the invention. Figure 3 shows a partial section of an engagement bracket according to the invention.
Figure 4 shows corresponding a partial section of an engagement bracket according to the invention.
Figure 5 shows an engagement bracket according to the invention viewed from the side.
As is apparent from figure 1, a number of engagement brackets 10 can be arranged with mutual distance about a
number of rings in a fish farm netpen. In the example shown there are three adjacent lying rings 18a, 18b, 18c. As shown, an upper rail pipe 20 can also be arranged to an upper part of the engagement bracket, where the upper rail pipe 20 stretches around the whole of the netpen.
The engagement bracket 10 is preferably divisible and comprises a lower part 14 and an upper part 12 which are arranged for assembly around a number of rings, as in the example shown, around all the three rings 18a, 18b, 18c. To lie in 'the best way around the rings, the engagement bracket comprises, when it is assembled, a number of through-going openings 22a, 22b, 22c to receive said rings. In the example shown, there are three openings, but the number of openings can be adapted to the number of rings which shall be used and as such can be fewer or more than that shown. In addition, the engagement bracket 10 preferably comprises a detachable and divisible rail support 16 for fastening of an upper rail pipe 20.
For simple assembly and release of the engagement bracket 10, in at least one of the coupling points between the upper part 12 and the lower part 14, the upper part 12 comprises a number of downwardly extending fastening legs 24a, 24b with cross-wise, through-going openings and the lower part 14 comprises a number of upwardly extending corresponding fastening legs 26a, 26b with cross-wise through-going openings whereby said openings, when in an assembled position form a continuous through-going opening 28 arranged to receive a fastening plug. To simplify the presentation, only the one assembly point in the opening 22c has been given a reference number, but it must be clear that all assembly points can be formed in a similar fashion. As shown in the figures, there are four such assembly points.
Furthermore the upper part 12 comprises an upwardly facing, open, fastening hollow space 30, arranged to
receive a lower part 32 of the rail support 16. In the opposite side walls 38a, 38b of the fastening hollow space, through-going openings 36a, 36b are provided which are arranged to receive a fastening plug 48 for retention of the lower part 32 of the rail support.
For said retention of the lower part 32 of the rail support, the lower part 32 can comprise a through-going channel 34 (as shown in figures 3 and 4) such that said openings 36a, 36b in the walls 38a, 38b, together with the channel 34 in the lower part 32, in an assembled state, form a continuous through-going opening to receive the fastening plug 48. Alternatively, a channel can be provided that runs in the hollow space 30 adjoining the lower part 32 of the rail support 16.
Furthermore the upper part 12 can comprise a channel 42 that extends from outside the end side edge 41 of the upper part, in or adjoining the wall 38a, through the fastening hollow space 30 (as shown in figure 3) and out through the rear wall 38b, arranged to contain a load strap 50 where the load strap runs through the channel 42 for fastening of an end, in or adjoining, the wall 38b, and the other end of the load strap extends out of the opening of the channel 42. The channel 42 preferably stretches through a diagonal, through-going opening 42a in the lower part 32 of the rail support 16 and the end loop of the load strap 50 can be fastened with the help of a cross-wise locking bolt 52 arranged in a recess on the outside of the rear wall 38b. The load strap can be used for securing the net in the netpen, or for retention of other equipment that is used in the netpen.
The rail support 16 can comprise a divisible, upper engagement bracket 44 for fastening of an upper rail pipe 20, where the upper engagement bracket can be assembled in the same way as the engagement bracket 10 is assembled in the assembly points. For fastening of the net, the upper
part of the rail support 16 can comprise an integrated net anchorage 46.
