 異常過電流で溶断する断面積減少部の許容電流を小さくすることができる、PTC装置を提供する。  互いに対向する一対の端子板20,22と、一対の端子板20,22に沿って一列に並び、一対の端子板20,22間に挟持され、一対の端子板20,22間に電気的に並列に接続されている複数のPTC素子11とを有する。一対の端子板20,22は引出し端部20b,22bがそれぞれ電源に接続される。一対の端子板20,22は、隣接する少なくとも1組のPTC素子11の間に、断面積が部分的に小さい断面積減少部20d,22dが形成されている。
