Abstract

A system and method for providing an advertisement is disclosed, which is capable of arousing a viewer s interest and inducing a growth in sales of merchandise by providing a recommendation search- word related with a broadcasting program currently televised through IPTV, relaying the recommendation search- word so as to make an advertiser to purchase the recommendation search- word as an advertising keyword by on-line, and making a viewer get information for a corresponding merchandise or service through an access to advertising contents corresponding to a selected advertising keyword when the viewer selects the advertising keyword shown on a screen of IPTV, wherein the system is comprised of managing a recommendation search- word related with a broadcasting program; and registering a keyword including the recommendation search- word as an advertising keyword included in a service of the broadcasting program.
