Abstract

A single channel direction detecting section (13) creates the direction data of each channel from a pair of sets of sound source data (E12) corresponding to the channels while switching between the channels and outputs it as channel-specific direction data (E13) to an FFT section (14). The FFT section (14) links the channel-specific direction data (E13), Fourier-transforms data regarded as time-series direction data, and finds direction data frequency components (E14). A filter section (15) outputs the components in which frequency components of an even harmonic out of the direction data frequency components (E14) are suppressed as filtered direction data frequency components (E15). An IFFT section (16) inverse Fourier-transforms the filtered direction data frequency components (E15) to find filtered direction data (E16). A sound source localization section (17) finds the direction of the sound source from the filtered direction data (E16).
