Abstract

A hand dryer in which, even if it is installed above a washbowl and used with the washbowl containing water, splashing of the water is prevented, so that the user is not inconvenienced. The hand dryer is placed at a side of a washbowl (12) of a wash stand (13) and has a box body (2), a high-pressure air flow generator for drawing outside air into the inside of the box body (2), and a nozzle (7) placed at the upper part of the box body (2) and ejecting air from the high-pressure air flow generator as high-speed air. The hand dryer further has a water receiving section (11) having a tilt section extending to the washbowl (12) from the box body (2) from its side face where the nozzle (7) is provided. The water receiving section (11) has water scatter prevention/water drain means for guiding water drops adhered to the water receiving section (11) to the washbowl (12) and preventing high-speed air ejected from the nozzle (7) from scattering water in the washbowl (12) through the water receiving section (11).
