Abstract

本発明のメカニカルシール装置（１）は、装置本体（６０）の外面（６０Ａ）に取り付けられる取付面（３０Ａ）と、内周面に嵌合面（３０Ｃ）と環状溝面（３０Ｂ）と遮断面（３０Ｓ）と、環状溝面（３０Ｂ）内の冷却室（Ｒ３）に連通する冷却用流体通路（４０）と、を有する樹脂材製の取付部品（３０）、シール面（３Ａ）を有する不しゅう材製の第１密封環（３）、シール面（３Ａ）と密接して摺動する相対シール面（１０Ａ）を有する不しゅう材製の第２密封環（１０）、第２密封環（１０）を密封に保持する樹脂材製のシールカラー（５０）、および第２密封環（１０）の周面部（１０Ｂ）と保持周面（５０Ａ）との間に狭持されて遮断面（３０Ｓ）と密接する第３シール面（２０Ｂ１）を有するシールリング（２０）を具備するものである。
