Abstract

 本発明に係るフォトダークニング抑制処理方法は、コアにYbが添加されたYb添加光ファイバを用意し、該Yb添加光ファイバに、そのレーザ発振時に該光ファイバを伝搬する光よりも高いエネルギを付与する条件で少なくともガンマ線、X線、電子線のいずれかを照射する第1の工程と、第1の工程後に該光ファイバの赤外領域の損失スペクトルを測定し、特定波長の損失が所定範囲内に入っている光ファイバを選択する第2の工程と、第2の工程において選択した光ファイバを、水素を含む雰囲気中で処理してフォトダークニング抑制Yb添加光ファイバを得る第3の工程とを含む。
