Abstract

A smoothing press apparatus (100) is arranged in the press part (11) of a closed draw type paper machine. The smoothing press apparatus (100) comprises a pair of press rolls (23 and 25), a smoothing belt (27) pushed together with a wet-web (W) by the paired press rolls (23 and 25), for smoothing the surface of the wet-web (W), and a paper making transfer felt (21) for transferring the wet-web (W) to the smoothing belt (27). As a result, the wet-web can be smoothed on its surface, and the paper can be made at a high rate.
