Abstract

It is intended to provide a technique suitable for the automated detection whereby a change in a gene in a minute amount of a biological sample can be efficiently detected. Namely, a method of detecting a change in a gene which comprises: the step of extracting a nucleic acid from a biological sample; the step of pipetting 0.5 to 5 μl portions of the nucleic acid solution obtained in the above step 1) into different positions on a single reaction container located on a reaction container table allowing temperature control; the step of drying the nucleic acid solution on the reaction container by controlling the temperature of the unit allowing temperature control; the step of pipetting 0.5 to 5 μl portions of a nucleic acid amplification reagent to the dried nucleic acid on the reaction container; the step of pipetting 3 to 10 μl portions of a solution for preventing the nucleic acid amplification solution from evaporation to the nucleic acid amplification reagent pipetted on the above step; and the step of conducting the nucleic acid amplification reaction by controlling the temperature of the unit allowing temperature control; followed by the detection of the product obtained after the completion of the nucleic acid amplification reaction and the analysis of the change in the gene.
