Abstract

　フレーム間予測を行う動画圧縮方式で圧縮されたビデオストリームを記憶装置から読み出し、デコード済のフレームを参照画像としてデコード処理に利用するデコード方法は、ビデオストリームから抽出された動きベクトル情報に基づいて参照画像を演算し、参照画像に基づいて予測画像を生成し、参照画像の処理単位内の各領域の読み出しサイクル、記憶装置のアクセス毎のオーバーヘッド、又は、記憶装置をアクセスするのに用いるバスの占有時間に基づいて参照画像の形状を決定する。
