Abstract

A coiled spring (10a) comprising a coil part (22) and a pair of locking parts (13a, 13a) formed on both sides of the center of the coil part (22) is installed between the outer peripheral surface of the tip end of a worm shaft (7a) and the inner peripheral surface of the holding cylindrical part (14) of a housing (3a) through a pressing sleeve (15). By this constitution, the number of the parts of a pressing mechanism for elastically pressing the tip end of the worm shaft (7a) toward a worm wheel can be reduced whereby all of the manufacture, control, and assembly operation of parts can be simplified, and the cost for the power steering device can be reduced.
