Abstract
[PROBLEMS] To provide clear, natural voice by compressing the high-frequency components of an input sound inputted into a public broadcast device, a public-address device, a hearing aid, or a telephone to a low-frequency band. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A voice enhancement processing device comprises an input band limiting unit, an input intra-band power computing unit, a harmonic code computing unit, an intra-band signal multiplying unit, and output signal limiting unit, and a signal adding unit. The voice enhancement processing device is characterized in that the input band limiting unit has a first band filter for passing a predetermined frequency component of the input signal as it is, the input intra-band power computing unit has a second band filter whose lower limit frequency is set at a frequency value equal to or higher than the upper limit frequency of the first band filter and adapted for passing the input signal and a power envelope extracting section for extracting a power envelop signal of the output signal of the second band filter, the harmonic code computing unit has a given pass frequency band and is composed of a harmonic feature extracting filter for passing the input signal and a code extracting section for extracting the code of the output signal of the harmonic feature extracting filter, the intra-band signal multiplying unit has a function of multiplying the output signals of the input intra-band power computing unit and the harmonic feature code computing unit, the output signal limiting unit is composed of a compressed band filter whose pass frequency band is the frequency band to which the frequency components of the input signal is compressed, and the signal adding unit has a function of adding the output of the input band limiting unit and the output of the output signal limiting unit.
