Abstract

An apparatus for adjusting speaker separation in an audio system housed in a cabinet provides a chassis adapted for mounting on a rear wall of the cabinet and includes a pair of elongated speaker arms aligned in face-to-face adjacency, each of the speaker arms having opposing, parallel, smooth linear edges, the edges of one of the speaker arms aligned with the edges of the other of (he speaker arms. Terminal ends of the speaker arms extend from opposing ends of the chassis. A speaker is mounted on the terminal end of each of the speaker arms. Plural, linearly aligned, wheels rotationally engage the speaker arms, and a drive system engages the speaker arms, the drive system enabling axial translation of the speaker arms between mutually retracted positions and mutually extended positions, thereby adjusting physical separation of the speakers along an axis.
