Abstract

This Infant Carrying device ' Maryke Baby Carrier' is a unique Product. Patented as the name 'Horizontal Cradle Contrivance'. a.) Adjusters to fit any body size. b.) Facilitates easy breast feeding, nursing or burping as the baby does not have to be removed from the cradle. c.) The configuration is designed so that it does not tire your body while carrying infant. d.) The various strpas would also incorporate quick release snpa buckles. This remarkable support device would allow the wearer to carry even a very young infant in a comfortable, hands-free manner in a fully reclined position. Bearing in mind that an infant in the first few months of life has a poorly developed neck and spine. The result is that the infant's neck and spine needs to be supported; which this device facilitates. When sick or cold conditions occur, you position baby against your bosom (heart) for snugness and warmth and a secure feeling. The 'U-shaped' frame protects the infants head and body from bumps, i.e. In super stores when shopping. Mattress can be removed and washed. The 'body carrying structure' (harness and cradle construction) is flexible which harmonises movement between infant/wearer and cradle. The harness supports the back of the wearer and cradle. The harness supports the back of the wearer and prevents it from tiring. The short end of 'U-shaped' carrying structure which makes contact with wearer's body is designed in such a manner that ensures firm comfort to wearer. (Structure nokt digging into wearer's body).

Description

Horizontal Cradle Contrivance
Field of invention
This invention relates to an infant carry device to be fitted to a wearer person for carrying an infant.
Background to invention:
The invention originated from the need to carry an infant in a horizontal safe position. An infant usually is being carried in a sitting position, this is not always convenient whereas the infant is supported by the wearer with one or both hands. This invention includes a cushioned support (mattress) to allow the baby to lie in a completely reclined horizontal position with your hands completely free!
Summary of invention
1. A safety strap with an adjustable quick release buckle secures the baby's upper torso just under the armpits with another safety strap attached to the safety strap running between the legs of the infant, preventing infant from sliding, out of cradle.
2. Body adjuster straps would bear the weight and extend from the cradle over the shoulders, crossing behind the wearers back. These straps would have slide adjusters where wearer could adjust the carrier to a comfortable level. The entire back strap configuration would be completely padded for comfort. One smaller baby position adjuster strap would connect to the cradle allowing the position or angle of the cradle to be adjusted for (i) Even weight distribution across the wearers body, (ii) Provides a face to face (intimate) relationship between wearer and baby, (iii) To position baby against wearers bosom (heart) when baby does not feel well (colic) or when sleeping or doing house chores, (iv) Facilitates easy breast feeding, nursing or burping as the baby does not have to be removed from the cradle, (v) Also when using public transport or when going on long walks or hikes.
The various straps would also incorporate quick release snap buckles. This remarkable support device would allow the wearer to carry even a very young infant in a comfortable, hands-free manner.
Bearing in mind that an infant in the first few months of life has a poorly developed neck and spine. The result is that the infants neck and spine needs to be supported by straps 53a and 73.
Brief detail of Drawings
First strap 15 consists of front & back straps 15a & 15b Strap 15 is fixed to leg 14 at its free end 50. Strap 15a leads to top position 31 where it is fitted to the back support assembly 39 by means of a moveable tri-g I id e buckle. Strap 15b extends from 25 at free and 50 and is attached to back cover 39 near to 34 by means of a quick release snap buckle.
Back strap 41 is fixed to strap 73 with triangle fold of 80 degrees which runs through and fixed to strap 15b at approximately 18. Strap 41 further extends and is attached to back support 39 at position 33 where it is attached by means of a moveable Tri-Glide Buckle.
Strap 73 is fixed to the rear leg 17 at its free end 45; it further extends across to front leg 14 and attached at 75. Strap 47 is fixed to strap 41 near free end 45 and runs through to strap 15b near 25 where it is fixed to form a bucket type triangle seating to secure the infants buttock (preventing infant from sliding out).
Second strap 53 is attached to front leg 14 at 69 and extends to 51 where it is fixed and extends further and is attached to back support 39 by means of a moveable Tri-Glide Buckle near 32. A harness strap 77 with a quick release is attached to rear leg 17 at 71 and extends to front leg 14 at 81 a further safety strap 79 which runs between baby's legs is fixed through the mattresslOO Fig. B to strap 47 and extends to strap 77 where it is attached to with a Glide effect. Strap 76 is attached to front leg 14 at 70 and extends to back support 39 where it is attached by means of a quick release buckle.
MattresslOO consists of foam covered with fabric which has a sleeve over the head end which is fitted over cradle frame head and secured to structure at 112 and 114 respectively as per Fig. A. Summary: a.) A harness structure could have to fit over the shoulder of and back of wearer (Back Support). The back support consists of two cross over harness straps which could be fixed to back cover preventing harness straps to slip off wearers shoulders. b.) A body Cradle structure which is partially stiff which includes a mattress with a pillow type sleeve which is slipped over cradle construction and secured to cradle frame by means of lace with the rear end of "U" type rod frame (which is shorter than front end of frame) abutting against the abdomen of wearer. c.) A body carrying structure could be a rod like "U" - shape frame with a rear leg end which is shorter than the front leg end of body carrier fitted with a padded mattress secured by lace to "U" - shape frame. d.) A cradle support constructing structure means supporting an infant when laying thereon.
