Description

Description A COOLING DEVICE
[0001] The present invention relates to a cooling device wherein the condenser and the compressor are cooled effectively.
[0002] In cooling devices, for example refrigerators, the compressor and the condenser, particularly the coil type condenser that is preferred for taking up less space, operates in a compartment that is generally situated at the lower portion of the body. Air is blown over the compressor and the condenser for removing heat by forced circulation and aiming to increase efficiency. In the state of the art, a fan is operated in between or on one side of the compressor and the condenser to cause cooling and the air aspirated by means of the fan from the exterior environment is generally passed over either the condenser and directed to the compressor or passed over the compressor and directed to the condenser. While the condenser or the compressor over which the exterior environment air passes firstly is cooled better than the other device, but sufficient cooling cannot be provided by blowing air of the exterior environment that will be heated by passing over the condenser to the compressor or by blowing air of the exterior environment that will be heated by passing over the compressor to the condenser.
[0003] In the European patent document no. EP1475590, in the component compartment situated at the lower portion of the refrigerator main body wherein the compressor and the condenser are disposed, the rear opening is covered by a cover and the cover is provided with air inlets and air outlets which are spaced apart from each other. The compressor and the condenser are disposed respectively behind the air inlets and the air outlets. By means of a fan situated between the condenser and the air outlets, the outer environment air is received through the air inlets and expelled from the air outlets after passing over the compressor and the condenser.
[0004] In the United States of America patent document no. US5592829, the fan positioned between the compressor and the condenser sucks in the outer environment air and directs over the compressor.
[0005] In the United States of America patent document no. US5117523, the cooling fan is positioned angularly to cool both the compressor and the condenser at the same time.
[0006] In the European patent document no. EP1559975, a cross flow type fan is disposed between the compressor and the condenser. The air aspirated from the outer environment is passed over the condenser and directed to the compressor. By means of the air suction and discharge openings the air aspirated from the outer environment and passed over the condenser and the compressor is discharged to the environment.
[0007] In the United States of America patent document no. US5428973, in a refrigerator which includes a machine compartment wherein a wire and tube condenser operates, an air passage duct formed in a zigzag shape is connected thereto for aspirating air from the outer environment to cross through the condenser.
[0008] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooling device wherein the condenser and the compressor are cooled effectively by regulating the flow of air.
[0009] The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is explicated in the claims.
[0010] In the cooling device of the present invention, the compressor and the coil condenser operate in the machine room preferably situated at the lower portion of the body called the cabin &r end region. Air is aspirated from the outer surrounding by means of a Ian and a suction channel situated in the machine room, an air distributor is used, to which the suction channel is connected, that surrounds the Ian for safeguarding and provides the air aspirated from the outer environment to be directed partially over the compressor and partially over the condenser.
[0011] The flow rate of the air sent over the compressor and the condenser is adjusted by a flow separator such as a valve or the like that is disposed in the air distributor. The desired amount of air aspirated from the outer environment is directed towards the compressor or the desired amount to the condenser by the flow separator, thus providing to send a larger amount of air over either the compressor or condenser, whichever requires more cooling in terms of efficiency.
[0012] In an embodiment of the present invention, the air distributor is disposed on the left side or right side of the compressor and the condenser and the blowing orifices are arranged on the side of the air distributor lacing the compressor and the condenser, providing to blow air in the same direction and separately towards the compressor and the condenser.
[0013] In another embodiment of the present invention, the air distributor is disposed in between the compressor and the condenser, and the blowing orifices are arranged on the left and right side of the air distributor, providing to blow air separately towards the compressor and the condenser that are situated at opposite sides of one another.
[0014] The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the below figures, where:
[0015] Rgure 1 - is the schematic top view of the cabin lar end machine room of a cooling device. [0016] Rgure 2 - is the perspective view of the cabin &r end machine room of a cooling device.
[0017] Rgure 3 - is the front schematic view of the cabin &r end machine room of a cooling device in another embodiment of the present invention.
[0018] Rgure 4 - is the top schematic view of the cabin &r end machine room of a cooling device in another embodiment of the present invention.
[0019] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
[0020] 1. Cooling device
[0021] 2. Compressor
[0022] 3. Condenser
[0023] 4. Machine room
[0024] 5. Fan
[0025] 6. Suction channel
[0026] 7. Air distributor
[0027] 8, 108. Blowing orifice
[0028] 9. Flow separator
[0029] The cooling device (1), preferably a refrigerator, comprises a compressor (2) for providing the refrigerant cycle, a condenser (3) that condenses the refrigerant, and a machine room (4) wherein the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) are disposed, and a &n (5) situated in the machine room (4) that cools the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) by blowing air thereupon.
[0030] The cooling device (1) of the present invention comprises a suction channel (6) through which air is aspirated from the outer environment by the &n (5) and an air distributor (7) to which the suction channel (6) is connected, safeguarding the &n (5) by encircling peripherally thereof, providing some amount of the air aspirated from the outside received through the suction channel (6) to be directed over the compressor (2) and some amount over the condenser (3).
[0031] Some amount of the air aspirated from the outer environment by the &n (5) is sent directly over the compressor (2) and some amount is sent directly over the condenser (3) separately and by avoiding the air blown over the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) from intermixing, the heat of the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) is prevented from affecting one another.
[0032] In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises one or more flow separators (9) such as a valve, preferably disposed in the air distributor (7) that regulates the flow rate of the air sent to the compressor (2) and the condenser (3). [0033] The desired amount of the air aspirated from the outer environment by the Ian (5) is directed towards the compressor (2) or the desired amount to the condenser (3) by means of the flow separator (9), thus providing to send a larger amount of air over either the compressor (2) or condenser (3), whichever requires more cooling in terms of efficiency. The flow separators (9) are moved according to the data received from sensors such as a heat sensor, providing to regulate the flow rate of the air blown over the compressor (2) and the condenser (3).
[0034] The cooling device (1) furthermore comprises a compressor blowing orifice (8) situated on the air distributor (7) that provides the air aspirated by the Ian (5) from the outer environment to be blown over the compressor (2) and a condenser blowing orifice (108) that provides the air aspirated by the Ian (5) from the outside to be blown over the condenser (3).
[0035] By changing the cross-sectional areas of the blowing orifices (8, 108) the amount of air blown over the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) can be adjusted, furthermore air can be directed to those portions of the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) that are in a greater need for cooling.
[0036] In the embodiment of the present invention, the air aspirated from the outer environment by means of the suction channel (6) as the Ian (5) operates, fills into the inner volume of the air distributor (7) whereby some portion thereof, without intermixing with the air already present in the machine room (4), being activated by the fan (5), is directed directly over the compressor (2) and some portion thereof is directed directly towards the condenser (3) and is blown through the blowing orifices (8, 108) over the compressor (2) and the condenser (3). When either one of the compressor (2) or the condenser (3) is detected to be far more heated and in need of cooling more, the air aspirated into the air distributor (7) by the fan (5) is adjusted by the flow separator (9) that sends a greater amount of air over the compressor (2) or the condenser (3), whichever is heated far more and in need of more cooling.
[0037] In the cooling device (1) of the present invention, preferably a radial type fan (5) is utilized. In radial type fans (5) a lesser number of revolutions is sufficient for providing the desired air flow rate than the axial type ones and thus the noise level in the machine room (4) resulting from air flow can be reduced.
[0038] In an embodiment of the present invention, the air distributor (7) is disposed on the left or right side of the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) and the blowing orifices (8, 108) are arranged on the side of the air distributor (7) facing the compressor (2) and the condenser (3). In this embodiment, the blowing orifices (8, 108) allow air to be blown from the air distributor (7) towards the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) in the same direction but separately.
[0039] In an embodiment of the present invention, the air distributor (7) is disposed in between the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) and the blowing orifices (8, 108) are arranged on the right and left side of the air distributor (7) thus allowing air to be blown separately to the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) that are disposed oppositely to one another.
[0040] By means of the embodiment of the present invention, the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) are cooled effectively and a significant increase in the coefficient of performance of the compressor (2) is maintained, the thermal efficiency of the condenser (3) is increased, the compressor (2) and the condenser (3) are cooled separately according to their cooling requirements and the noise level is reduced.
