Description

A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE
Technical Field
The invention relates to equipment that provides protection for electrical connection components of a unit such as engine within an electrical household appliance which operates with water, i.e. a washing appliance or a dishwasher.
Current Technology
In a household appliance, especially in a washing appliance operating with water, there is a risk of water reaching to any electrical connection in various manners. In such a case, conductivity of ions in water may cause a short circuit within the appliance. Unless some measure is adapted, such short circuit may create irreparable problems occurring from electric cord terminal joints or the like and bring forward a safety issue, particularly on a critical point such as engine connection within a washing machine.
JP10249094 discloses a related problem and solution thereof. Within the appliance described in said document, a terminal component in an engine switching a discharge valve of a washing appliance is enclosed within a U-formed protective casing. Said casing has high manufacture costs and intense installation laboring due to being born to synthetic resin washing chamber in an integrated manner.
Furthermore, in case of breakdown dismantling operations also become more challenging.
A commonly utilized cable connection is made from plastic an shaped in generally rectangular prismatic form. It enables the cable coming from the engine to be connected to a body during installation and is referred to as socket. It also includes a socket fixation as well as a water shield for electrical connections made therein.
In order to achieve this, placing the socket longitudinally within a bore opened vertically to the long side against socket bearings made by joining two plates generating side T form enables the short side to act like a water shield but cannot provide desired support since the socket is only in touch with the cross section. Based on this problem, in certain applications the socket is placed on a plane and held by a bracket so as to have contact along the base thereof. Said construction that forms a connection bracket without any protection, however, enables utilization of the socket while exposing the electrical connection to water splash risk. BRIEF DESCRIPTION of the INVENTION
This invention relates to a connection terminal bracket construction that eliminates the above-mentioned problems and provides extra advantage for the relevant technical field.
By setting out from current technology, the purpose of the invention is to generate a solid installation for an electrical connection element such as terminal bracket as well as to provide a barrier enabling water protection.
Another purpose of the invention is, providing a low-cost bracket and water shield for an electrical terminal socket.
In order to achieve said purposes, the present invention relates to an electrical household appliance comprising an electric motor powered by power supply, a cord that forms connection between power supply and said electric motor and, a terminal element on which the cord joints are made and placed on a base plate having a bearing plane.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that said base plate having from a side that faces washing equipment towards the terminal element, at least a barrier plate that extends in an angular manner to create a shield against the washing equipment.
In a second preferred embodiment of the invention, the barrier plate is in the form of a basin that has a prolongation towards the washing equipment in order to direct water that may escape over the washing equipment.
Another preferred embodiment of the invention includes at least one curved surface that extends in parallel from the base plate to barrier plate so as to enable the fixation of said barrier plate to the base plate.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the structure co-built by said barrier plate and base plate is in L form.
In yet another preferred embodiment of the invention, a bearing plane encloses the large surface of said socket. In order to enable this, said bearing plane area is at least as large as base area of the socket. Yet a further preferred embodiment of the invention is being characterized by at least a locking arrangement, comprising a locking component located on the terminal component and a bore created correspondingly on the base plate.
In still another preferred embodiment of the invention, said plates are metal sheets.
In yet another embodiment of the invention, said base plate has a collapse region at least in the width of relevant socket side edge so as to enable the socket place on the base plate.
In still a further embodiment of the invention, a fixation surface is created by bending the close-to-body side of the base plate side so as to have a plate extending to the body, in order to fix said base plate to a body section of the device.
A preferred embodiment of the invention includes a collapse region in width of at least the contact edge line of relevant socket base plate so as to enable the socket place on said base plate.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the width of the base plate is at least equal to the width of terminal component. Thus, base surface of the terminal component is covered by the base plate.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a short side of the barrier plate is at least at height of the terminal component.
Structural and characteristic features and entire advantages of the invention shall be more explicitly understood through below referenced figures and detailed description thereof, and therefore, evaluation should be made in consideration of these figures and detailed description.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this detailed description the invention is described with reference to accompanied figures, solely to clarify the matter without bringing any restrictive impacts.
The connection terminal bracket construction in general consists of a bracket (2) with a barrier (1 ) located at the terminal component (3) ended location by reaching to electric motor (6) through a cord (8) extending from the electric source (7) within the direction of possible water dropping (A) such as washing machine (5) oscillation set (4) bottom as illustrated by Figure 3. The barrier (1 ), constitutes a tray in incoming water direction through a bending surface (1.1 ) formed for instance by being parallelized to y-axis as vertical to a 5 mm offset.
Bracket (2), however, forms a surface of which the short edge bears a barrier bearing (2.1 ) extending parallel to the barrier (1 ), and the long edge extends on xy-plane and bears the terminal (3), again by rectangular plane plate being bended in L form.
There are welding centers (2.2) at the corners to enable the bracket (2) being fixed to the barrier via the barrier bearing (2.1 ). A large chock bending (2.3) in right triangle form is created at corner parts between the bracket (2) and the barrier bearing (2.1 ) formed during the L form bending of the plate. Thus, a moment to be applied over the barrier (1 ) to the corner is avoided by the chock bending (2.3).
On the bracket (2), a terminal bore (2.4) composed of two equal sized, parallel to each other and in a distance of terminal sockets claws (3.1 ) rectangular bores are opened in order to insert the terminal socket (3) in B direction. Inter alia, a collapse
(2.6) pattern is formed in female form and B like, corresponding to a swelling (not shown) located beneath the socket (3), in order to let the socket (3) centered and fixed at the area where it will place on the bracket (2). In the center of the collapse (2.6), however, there is bearing surface (2.7) having the terminal bore (2.4), which communicates with the terminal socket (3) and of which any socket claws (3.1 ) are being attached. When measured from one end to another, the width of said bearing surface (2.7) is at least as the width of the socket (3.2).
Thereby, a standard terminal socket (3) having a large surface parallel to xy plane and also having a claw (3.1 ) extending in z direction on both ends, is both protected by the barrier (1 ) in the event of a water leakage and, against the threats like water that may come from beneath thereof, thanks to its large area of the terminal bearing surface on xy plane (2.7). The barrier (1 ) avoids water transfer, as well as heat transfer to the oscillation group in the event excess heat.
An adjacent edge of the bracket (2) to the barrier bearing (2.1 ), creates a protective bending (2.5) so as to form a dam by being bended a little, for instance 2 mm. Thus, in case of water flow, the water transfer from the edge to the terminal bearing surface
(2.7) of the bracket (2) is avoided.
On the other adjacent edge of the bracket (2) to the bearing (2.1 ), however, a flap is vertically bended in z-axis but contrary to the barrier (1 ). Such installation bending (2.8) is supported by the chock bending (2.3) similar to the barrier bearing (2.1 ), and a contrary support to the moment direction is achieved.
There are three circular installation bores (2.10) formed on installation bending (2.8). The connection components (not shown) extending from said installation bores (2.10) in bracket installation course (C), connects the bracket (2) to the body (5) of the washing appliance.
The scope of protection of the invention is as defined in the appended claims and must not be restricted with the illustrations in this detailed description. It is obvious that a skilled person in the art may suggest similar constructions in view of the foregoing without departing from the scope of the invention.
