Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de communication consistant à établir une première connexion entre un terminal sans fil (22) et une station de base (26) d'un réseau de données sans fil à longue portée qui opère selon un premier protocole définissant une séquence de cadres temporels (20) pour la transmission de données entre le terminal sans fil et la station de base. Dans ce procédé, un signal est transmis à la station de base depuis le terminal sans fil, ce qui permet d'identifier un intervalle comprenant un ou plusieurs des cadres temporels au cours desquels le terminal sans fil ne va pas recevoir de données de la station de base. Durant cet intervalle, une seconde connexion est établie entre le terminal sans fil et un point d'accès (24) d'un réseau local sans fil (WLAN) qui opère selon un second protocole, différent du premier.
