Abstract

The invention relates to a device for rapidly chilling a product or thawing a frozen product (3) in a refrigerator (1) comprising a freezer compartment (1.1) and a refrigerator compartment (1.2). The refrigerator compartment (1.2) is provided with a housing (2) for accommodating the product (3), an aerating mechanism (2.3) for transferring heat to the product (3), and at least one deaerating mechanism (2.4) which evacuates a fluid that has been in contact with the product (3) from the housing (2).
