Abstract

Compositions and methods for producing alkaloid compounds, e.g., morphinan alkaloids and derivatives thereof, in plants are disclosed. For example, a plant cell expressing a morphinan alkaloid modifying enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of one or more morphinan alkaloids or derivatives is disclosed.
