Description

A COOLING DEVICE
This invention relates to a cooling device comprising a dryer in its cooling cycle.
A dryer between the condenser and the capillary tube is utilized in the cooling cycle to withhold the impurities in the circulating refrigerant fluid and to prevent these impurities from clogging especially the capillary tube and to absorb the moisture of the refrigerant fluid.
In state-of-the-art embodiments, as the compressor starts to operate, circulation of the refrigerant fluid may generate noise as a consequence of various reasons. One of the most important reasons for this noise is the creation of a vortex or turbulence at the entrance to the capillary tubes by the refrigerant fluid which is in a liquid and gas phase in the dryer.
In the current state-of-the-art, in British Patent Application no. GB1435490, a description is given of a dryer composed of two tubes one inside the other providing the dryness of the compressed refrigerant and separating the impurities contained within.
In the current state-of-the-art, in German Patent Application no. DE2656664, as it flows through the dryer, the refrigerant fluid makes a circular motion to separate the impurities.
In another state-of-the-art, in United States of America Patent no. US6681596, the fixing of the dryer to the tube transferring the refrigerant to the dryer is described. The object of the present invention is to design a cooling device comprising a dryer which prevents noise by avoiding the formation of a vortex or turbulence during the circulation of the refrigerant fluid.
The cooling device designed to fulfill the objective of the present invention is shown in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 - is the schematic view of a refrigerant cycle.
Figure 2 - is the schematic view of a dryer. Figure 3 - is the sectional view of the body inner wall and the plates mounted on the body inner wall.
Figure 4 - is the perspective view of the body inner wall and the plates mounted on the body inner wall.
Figure 5 - is the schematic view of a plate with holes. Figure 6 - is the schematic view of a plate with a bend.
Figure 7 - is the schematic view of a dryer having an additional filter.
Figure 8 - is the schematic view of a dryer and the capillary tube inserted into the dryer with a certain angle.
Elements shown in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Cooling device
2. Compressor
3. Evaporator
4. Condenser 5. Capillary tube
6. Dryer
7. Body
8. Inlet
9. Outlet 10. Filter group
11. Coarse filter
12. Fine filter 13. Additional filter
14. Moisture filter
15. Plate 16. HoIe 17. Bend
The cooling device (1) of the present invention comprises a compressor (2) providing the compression of the refrigerant fluid, a condenser (4) which condenses the refrigerant fluid leaving the compressor (2) as overheated vapour, making it first to pass into liquid- vapour phase then into liquid phase, one or more capillary tubes (5) providing the refrigerant fluid to attenuate and to entirely pass into the liquid phase, one or more evaporators (3) transmitting the condensed fluid, cooling the medium by absorbing heat of the medium and providing the refrigerant fluid to cool the cooling compartment by absorbing heat, and a dryer (6) situated between the condenser (4) and the capillary tubes (5), preventing the clogging of particularly the capillary tubes (5) by withholding the impurities contained within the refrigerant fluid circulating in the cooling cycle and absorbing the moisture in the refrigerant fluid (Figure 1).
The dryer (6) comprises preferably a cylindrical body (7), an inlet (8) which is attached to the outlet of the condenser (4) situated at one end of the body (7) and through which the refrigerant fluid flowing through the condenser (4) is transmitted, an outlet (9) attached to the inlet of the capillary tubes (5) providing flow of the refrigerant fluid into the capillary tubes (5), a filter group (10) situated between the inlet (8) and the outlet (9), withholding the impurities of various sizes and the moisture contained within the refrigerant fluid, and one or more plates (15) positioned between the filter group (10) and the outlet (9) situated on the inner wall of the body(7), preventing the creation of a vortex and turbulence by the refrigerant fluid flowing through the filter group (10) and reducing the noise caused by the vortex and turbulence to a minimum level (Figure 2, Figure 3, and Figure 4).
The plate (15) is positioned on the inner wall of the body (7), around the outlet (9).
In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the plate (15) comprises holes (16) of various sizes and numbers (Figure 5).
In yet another alternative embodiment of the present invention, the plate (15) comprises one or more bends (17) at different angles (Figure 6).
The filter group (10) comprises a coarse filter (11) which receives the refrigerant fluid entering through the inlet (8) and withholds the larger sized impurities, one or more moisture filters (14) after the coarse filter (11) which entraps the moisture contained in the refrigerant fluid, and a fine filter (12) situated after the moisture entrapping filter (14) which withholds smaller sized impurities contained in the refrigerant fluid that the coarse filter (11 ) can not withhold.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the filter group (10) comprises one or more additional filters (13) positioned after the fine filter (12) and before the outlet (9) which withholds the smaller sized impurities that even the fine filter (12) cannot withhold (Figure 7).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the section of the capillary tube (5) entering through the outlet (9) situated on the dryer (6) that is between the filter group (10) in the dryer (6) and the outlet (9) is bended with an angle preferably between 0 and 45 degrees. Thus the noise created due to vortex and turbulence is reduced to a minimum level (Figure 8). With the embodiment of the present invention, the noise created by the vortex and turbulence during the flow of the refrigerant fluid from the dryer (6) to the capillary tube (5) is reduced to a minimum level by utilizing the plate (15) situated in the dryer (6).
