Abstract

La invención se refiere a un producto cuyas características permiten mantener una muestra biológica obtenida de un individuo en condiciones tales que la calidad de los ácidos nucleicos extraídos con posterioridad no se vea afectada, garantizando su integridad independientemente del tiempo que pase desde la obtención de la muestra hasta la extracción del ácido nucleico. Para ello, se mezcla una muestra biológica ya sea sólida (órgano) o líquida (sangre, semen, cultivo celular, etc.) de un eucarionte o procarionte en una solución que consiste en la mezcla de EDTA (ácido ethylen-diamine- tetraacetico) en su forma trisódica, de Fluoruro sódico (NaF) y la saturación con Timol (extraído de Thymus vulgaris L) para evitar la contaminación y el crecimiento bacteriano y su ajuste a un pH equivalente a 8. Esta solución permite la recogida de muestras y su permanencia a temperatura ambiente en ella durante tiempo indefinido para su posterior extracción de ácidos nucleicos y PCR, clonado, secuenciación, hibridación o mutagénesis, con garantías suficientes de integridad y fiabilidad.
