Abstract

The invention relates to a device which actuates an extinguisher upon coming into contact with fire or in response to an increase in temperature close thereto, such that, in said conditions, the extinguisher is activated and explodes, thereby releasing the contents thereof, which extinguish the fire. The invention is characterised in that it comprises a series of differently-coloured capsules (2, 3) which are mounted in a surrounding casing (4) that is connected to the extinguisher and which are aligned with the openings in said casing (4). The aforementioned capsules (2, 3) are provided with different plastic deformation or breaking strength properties, depending on the outside temperature, such as to activate a switch mechanism (9) which actuates an alarm circuit or which causes the extinguisher (14) to explode in order to release the contents thereof, which extinguish the fire.
