Abstract

The invention relates to a device which is intended for emergency situations and which enables users to descend the façade of a building. The invention consists of a rope coil comprising a shaft which is mounted to disks belonging to an outer support, such as to form a simple braking system which is based on the initial blocking of the coil. The invention is characterised in that a manual actuator is provided on one of the ends of the coil shaft and is used to apply a lesser or greater pressure on the sides of the support, thereby reducing or increasing the speed of descent.
